We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomThe hotel was satisfactory but my overall experience was slightly disappointing. I felt the room was a little tired. It was clean but a few points, ( the gaps in the new floor tiles, a crack in the toilet bowl, along with the decor and the darkness of the room detracted from the oversell impact. I couldn't find the nearby parking, so was at the other end of town. I booked the hotel thinking I would be in the beautiful main building, but was in an annex albeit in the old town. I arrived mid afternoon and the hotel was locked I had to ring a number to be let in. The town and the whole Alsace wine route is incredibly beautiful, I have stayed in 4 different hotels in the region over the last few days at similar prices, this was the least satisfactory
The location at the edge of the town is excellent.

United States of AmericaIt was almost unbearably hot. I know this area does not usually require air conditioning and can't really fault them for a heatwave, but there was no fan or anything provided in our very small room--very unlike the photos--that became stifling at night. Also, breakfast was not included as listed and this was only mentioned on check out--not when breakfast requests were taken. Not a huge deal to us with only one night, but some poor travelers had been there 3 days wracking up unbudgeted expenses without realizing it. Their response was that Booking had it wrong and it wasn't their problem--a little deceptive in my opinion.
The hotel itself was cute and centrally located, but our room was not in the hotel--it was down the street. Not a huge issue except that we had already schlepped our luggage quite a distance as there is no parking.

United States of AmericaShitty, shitty, shitty service. I would recommend this location for food, but not the hotel. They state that English is a language they speak, that there is Wi-fi, and that there is a bathtub in every room. None of these are true. I have found this town is very friendly—but the staff here are hostile and non-welcoming to solo travelers. I booked in advance and due to travel, requested, if possible, to check in early. That request was granted before my arrival. However, when I arrived, I was told how inconvenient it was and that check in was not until 15:00 (14:00 is stated online). Many very loud sighs later from a staff member, I was led to my room. No bathtub, just a shower. After drinking the water, it tasted like rust and the sink was covered in rust. No directions on wi-fi even after asking. I attempted to figure out and also messaged the establishment—they never bothered to respond. They said it was on a card, which is not something I ever received. Location was great, restaurant was great, the staff and hotel facilities were well below expected. Very deceptive and rude hotel. Would never recommend staying here. I the. Booked at Colmar Vignes Hotel across the street—-highly recommend that hotel. -

United States of AmericaI lack experience driving in France, and perhaps I missed something, but clear directions to free parking for the day, if available, would have been helpful. I didn't know where exactly to park besides the pay-for-parking or the 30 minute temporary parking. That may be the nature of these small villages however. Nobody wants a big ugly parking lots all over the place after all.
Very comfortable bed and room (a firm bed which I very much prefer), welcoming proprietors, and hearty food in the restaurant. Perhaps this is obvious to most people, but reservations really must be made for the restaurant ahead of time, as is the case in most of France. I didn't realize that, but they were still able to find me a table.
