Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe Internet was a bit ropey, I’m afraid. But I’m sure Charles will put that right!
La Rapière is a terrific little hotel, minutes from the gate of the old Cité at Carcassonne. It is quite charming and relaxed with a nice courtyard for sitting having a drink. The room was excellent: large and comfortable with a great bathroom. The staff are also friendly and helpful. We loved it.

Very well located, looks up to the castle walls. Parking is open but on the grounds. Room wasn't exciting but fine. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a highlight. Admittedly not many nearby options but here was cosy, nearly full, with attentive staff, good food and an outlook over the courtyard to the castle walls as they lit up over night.

United KingdomOn arrival appearance of hotel looks more like a bar area and reception was difficult to locate. Toilet flush panel had large crack in it. Noisy people talking outside in bar area til past 2'0 clock on second night, kept us awake.
Lovely spacious room with an enormous terrace and view of the castle. Access to city was across the road, for all the sights, restaurants shops etc. Breakfast was good, staff very helpful and friendly.

Very convenient for the entrance to the citadel being only a very short walk away, it also has its own car park. I really enjoyed our one night stay the staff were friendly & helped when we had a problem with our hire car .... Much appreciated! A first rate buffet breakfast is also included. Really liked the vibe of this place & would definitely use again.

United KingdomThe room was downstairs (basement) so was rather dark. Perhaps the rooms could do with updating. The wifi was not operational in our room during our 3 night stay. An alternative wifi was supplied but did not operate in our room. Other than that all was good. The plus points easily outweighed the gripes.
The staff were to a man and woman very friendly. There is a very good restaurant onsite with very reasonable prices. As to location, excellent right across the road from the Castle. Onsite parking at no additional charge - always a welcome thing.

For price, excellent value for money. Amazing location 100m outside castle walls. Welcomed with English speaking man who gave as a map and told us best places to go. Spotlessly clean room. Comfy bed, nicely presented breakfast. Car parking on site.

United KingdomIn our room especially from the shower room, there we noticed an unpleasant smell as soon as we walked in. There was an air freshener prominently in the bedroom area which suggests the hosts were trying to mask it. ( However the room and facilities all looked very clean and it didn't spoil our stay for the reasons above)
Wonderful location , so convenient. Very comfortable beds, lovely breakfast and extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Great view of the Cite walls from our room.

United KingdomRestaurant quality ok, nothing wrong with it but pricey compared to others nearby. Just about made up for by the great view while eating on the sun terrace and bar!
Great location, 5 min walk from airport shuttle bus stop, 5 mins to city walls, with lovely view up to the City. Good amount of space in our very clean room. Daily cleaning. Staff very friendly, didn't laugh at my bad French! Ideal fresh continental breakfast, with good coffee!

United KingdomCould have done without the square continental type pillows! Can’t really think of anything else we didn’t like.
The location was excellent. The property had a great ‘feel’ about it. It was simple, unfussy and relaxed. It was also very clean and nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff. Lovely thick towels! A good continental style breakfast and everything was very fresh. We were fortunate in being allocated a great room with a terrace that had a first class view of the old walled city.

United KingdomNothing but this Hotel is a very well updated version of a traditional French family hotel. If you go there expecting a bland international style hotel where you could be in Tashkent Tangier or Timbuktu then you will be disappointed. My wife and I loved it.
Excellent view of the citie. Good on site parking. Room was good. Good value for money. Decent continental breakfast. Staff obliging and friendly. Their English was better than my French. We ate there first night, our views are divided. I thought the food was good my wife less so. The cheedeboard was excellent, one is enough for two. .Some good wines on the list. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to our friends.
