Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The room was a little small, but was ok for a short stay. The shower leaked as the glass protector didn’t close properly. When booking, it said “city view” but the view we had was the back of some buildings. There was some sort of banging noise every evening and then morning.
The location was amazing. 5 minute walk to the best view of the Eiffel Tower, good transport links, and 10/15 minute walk to Arch de Triomphe. Room was clean on arrival and could leave the key with reception daily, which was good as we didn’t have to worry about losing it. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and happy to assist with any of our needs. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and replenished often.

The room is a little small but we can still open our two large suitcases.
We drove a car and there is a parking area nearby(not free). The staff told us the address of the parking area on booking in advance which brought us much convenience. The room is clean and cozy. It took us 5 minutes' walk to see amazing Eiffel tower.

Great location, walking distance from Eiffel Tower. Small, but very comfortable rooms. Excellent staff. Everything nearby - shops, restaurants. Had special request for my husband’s birthday, everything was organized perfectly.

The lift could only fit 1 to 2 at a time but it was all part of the excitement and it didn't bother us we just delt with it.
The location was fabulous. Close to restaurants and the Effiel tower was only about a 10 minute walk and close enough to also walk to the train station and Arch de triumph. Lovely friendly staff. Breakfast was great we probably should have just booked in breakfast everyday as it was lovely and a lot cheaper than going to the restaurant or Cafe. Rooms were petit but we still managed with the four of us and 4 big suitcases and 4 small hand luggage bags

Rooms could have been bigger to allow for ease of movement while getting ready to go out for dinner or sight seeing. Double rooms could be provided with a double bed as opposed to two single beds pushed together and set as a double.
The property is in a very good location, walking distance to Champs Elysees and Tour Eiffel. The rooms are very comfortable however slightly compromising on space. The staff were very friendly and accommodating with someone on the door at all hours.

Minor stuff.
Great staff who were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Has a lift although a couple of rooms are off the main space but staff helped with bags. Rooms are small but well laid out. Closets with hangers. Updated bathrooms. All clean and nicely furnished. Great location and lots of restaurant options. We would stay there again.

As the rooms are close together we could hear noisy people next door opening and closing their doors but it wasn't the whole time
Lovely comfortable rooms for a perfect stop whilst exploring the city. Such a easy walk to the eiffel Tower. Lots of restaurants etc nearby . Small rooms but convenient and great staff

The room was rather small but very comfortable, it was heated before our arrival and we had complimentary tea and coffee available. I very much appreciated the zoom mirror for makeup in the bathroom and the lotion as that facilitated my stay. The staff was very welcoming, very amiable and we had a very nice breakfast with home made cake. We will definitely be coming back soon.
