Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Breakfast was OK, not exceptional. Necessary to log on to wifi each time.
Location was excellent. Close to canal, metro, train station, centre. Staff were very professional and helpful.

Someone was fixing the door right in front of my room in the early morning. Some hairs in the drawer and coffee, filter missing. Is not a 4 star hotel from my opinion.
Service is good and close to the station, walk within 10 mins. Kitchen has many equipments.

Couldn't open the window at night, as you could here everything from the street. Without opened window is not enough air. However, at the end of our trip we figured out that there was an air conditioner in the room :D
Room was nice, cleaness was ok. The kitchen was an advantage and had everything necessary. The location is very nice, easy to walk to the center and the surrounding sightseeings. The hotel is next to the channel, where you can take a walk along.

We love the spaciousness of the rooms in this hotel. Having a servery for breakfast is a bonus! Bed was comfortable and lighting was perfect.

Room a little smaller than expected from pictures on website. There is a €150 damage deposit blocked on your card at check in. Released on day I was leaving but still took 5 days for funds to be available to me again. Just something to be aware of. Probably in the small print but I didnt notice when booking
Nice small hotel just a 10 minute walk from Capitole. Very quiet despite proximity to the centre. Room overlooked the courtyard, clean, modern and comfortable with a useful kitchen area and fridge. Reception staff very pleasant. Small supermarket close by and some late night shops for wine/snacks etc

The breakfast was good but a bit expensive.
The room had a small kitchen which was a bonus. All in all very compfortable, the heating could be easily controlled, everything looked new and modern. The location is perfectly ok, close to the canal and great for going out for a run in the evening.

I found the pillows uncomfortable, but I understand that this is personal.
The staff was very kind and attentive. The location is very good. The rooms are large, spacious and have a well-equipped kitchen.

The lighting in our room was very poor and dim, one of the bedside lights didn’t work at all. There was no shelf inside the shower cubicle, which was quite inconvenient. At the end of the stay you have to take your rubbish out yourself, which I think should be included in the hotel service.
Great location, close to cafes, restaurants and central train station. Good choice of breakfast and very welcoming and caring staff

The only minus was the cleanliness of the bathroom and a broken kettle lid (the kettle did work fine though), but considering the price per night, that was perfectly acceptable.
The location was perfect, in a quiet street not far from the train station and the city center, and a large number of very nice and affordable restaurants. The room was large, the beds very comfortable, the kitchenette well kitted out, and the WiFi excellent. We chose not to pay for the exorbitantly expensive breakfast as there is a little supermarket and excellent baker just around the corner, where we got our breakfast for a fraction of that price and ate it in our room.
