Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content

- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was a bit run down, though still totally OK for a few nights' stay.
This is a small hotel that appears to have had better times. They were renovating while we were there so hopefully by the time you get there it would be nicer. However the staff was very friendly and graciously let us early into the room, and the location is conveniently accessible by both car and bus.

Really good service. We arrived very late at night and hadn't seen the check in instructions, but the people who answered the ring doorbell were very patient with us and even came with a cot at 1am.

I needed to rest and the atmosphere was perfect for me to do this. I felt very secure and comfortable. The kindness shown to me by the owner or manager was very much appreciated. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and tastefully presented.

Hotel was lovely for the price paid, very spacious room with lovely decor and gorgeous bay window. Bathroom facilities were great, though didn't use the shower so cant review that. Close to a bus stop that gets you to the city centre quickly despite being situated in a quieter area outside the main city. Check in and out was quite easy.

Located in a quiet neighbourhood, near bus stops, Alison house 17 provided us with a spacious room, cleaned everyday. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the tea! The self check in was really convenient as we arrived after midnight.

The room was very clean and spacious. Excellent value for money. The shower had great water pressure. We just needed a place to stay so the distance from town was not an issue and we found a restaurant in the area.

We loved the room. The view to the garden was beautiful. Beds were really comfy and bathroom has been renovated. It was very clean and close to the royal mile by a 15 mins walk. There’s a bus as well.

cosy environment, appreciated the ease of a self check in as we arrived at 10pm. Very easy to do. The room was small but comfy. definitely great for a couple , would come again with my partner rather than my friend as the room was very small for two friends - closer in comfort than we’re used too. but like i said great room for a couple.
