Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Room was very hot. Light switches were complicated, a number of bulbs were not working. TV reception poor. WiFi poor. No windows to open for ventilation (only patio door or front door)
Very quiet, ample parking, no contact key collection, lovely big room, powerful shower, small patio area, very clean, tea and coffee area large and easy to clean. Ample plug sockets for charging etc.

A solitary croissant each in the room was a poor substitute breakfast, but hopefully the hotel's concerns about the risks of Covid will be relaxed at some point next year and their excellent cooked breakfasts will be offered again.
The accommodation was excellent and we will certainly stay again.

There was no full breakfast on offer. We were offered cereal and a toasty for £10 per head. A bit over priced in my opinion.

Needed a chair or stool so could sit at desk. Shower (even on low setting) sprayed water over bathroom floor, so risk of slipping. Partly kept awake due to light coming through pale curtains and strongly through the non-curtained Velux window high up in the ceiling.
Nice and quiet. Easy parking. Very suitable location. Nice kettle and biscuits.

Beds weren’t the comfiest and it could have been cleaner.
Staff were so friendly and helpful, we actually booked the wrong date but the managed to accommodate us and saved our trip.

There were no bar or restaurant facilities but that was due to circumstances beyond your control so you are forgiven.
The breakfast was excellent, the room was comfortable and the outside grounds were beautiful. We were sorry we were only staying for one night.

I was not told that the restaurant would not be open for dinner but I received an apology and directions to a place that was open.
Everything I would expect was provided and everyone I had dealings with was pleasant. The motel-type layout meant that parking was ample and convenient. My room was spotlessly clean. I liked the garden and the conservatory where breakfast was served.

A small fridge in the room would have been helpful as we had had a picnic on the day we arrived and didn't have anywhere to store the remaining food so it ended up being wasted. I didn't feel it was appropriate to ask the host to store our food, especially in the present environment, we had already asked them to store a bottle milk for our toddler which they kindly did and so it is not a criticism I had just made an assumption that there would be one.
The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of it, would happily book again.

Blinds on the velux window that we could open and shut (poss difficult as they're so high up). Would mean very early wake ups in high summer without. It was very light very early even at the beginning of August.
Rooms were next to each other with parking directly in front of the chalet area. Rooms were spacious and bigger than expected. Very quiet and good location for our needs.
