Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The staff were friendly and hotel was very clean and tge smoothest lift ive ever been in as it didn't seem to move but got you to rhe right floor. The breakfast in The Hidson bar was fresh , tasty and easily laid out for you to choose.

United KingdomThe room was warm but we were able to open the window which was ok. Some of our friends either were unable to open theirs or in the single rooms had no window at all so best to check if you would have an issue with this!
Our room was spotlessly clean and faced out onto the main street, which I liked, but it may be a bit noisy for some people. Hotel is perfectly placed if you're looking for lively pubs and restaurants. Also opposite the railway station

United KingdomUnfortunately the local nightlife made sleeping really difficult. I was booked in for one night and was awake until 4:00 / 4:30am trying to sleep, ultimately achieving only 3 hours of sleep at best. There was a consistent buzzing noise coming from somewhere inside the room... I'm unsure what the source of the noise was. I used the iron but the iron or the iron board got black marks on my shirt which I had to scrape off with my fingers without damaging the fabric of the shirt as it wouldn't come off very easily.
The hotel was lovely inside, comfortable and very clean and tidy. Polite and friendly staff as well as being excellent for accessing the railway station.

United KingdomWe have stayed twice this month while we attended concerts in the city. Great location for bothe the O2 and the eventim arenas, within walking distance of both. On the first occasion we had a small double. Which was good value, clean, with plenty of facilities. However we did find the room rather small and too warm,( although still good value)so we chose to upgrade for our second visit. The is time we had a king sized bed in very large room in the upgraded part of the hotel. It had a large bathroom and air-conditioning. This was a very good value room. Excellent facilities. If we need to come back to Newcastle again we will happily use The County Hotel.

United KingdomArrived at hotel around 2pm and spoke to staff to book car into car park and was told would need to come back at 3pm to book in as apartments not quite ready, came back at 3pm and stood in a queue waiting to check in for 45 mins to get to the front and be told we needed to book in at apartments and had to get directions to where this was, my husband walks with a stick as he has vascular disease in his legs so meant he had to walk much more than he was anticipated. As a result we missed getting to disabled parking at stadium of light by 5pm and my disabled husband had to walk a great distance to get to concert which could have been avoided had we been told at 2pm that we needed to checkin elsewhere.
The apartment was lovely, no issues with it

United KingdomI didn't realise that the standard double room had a small double bed and a deluxe double had a normal double bed. This was fine for us, but I wish this would have been clearer.
Hotel is in a really central location, very close to the train station. Room was very clean. Staff were very helpful. Didn't try breakfast/dinner so couldn't comment, but it was very close to lots of restaurants nearby so there was lots of choice.

United KingdomThe carpet was a little shabby in the room.
Located straight opposite the train station so easy to find. The drinking area was more up market so more for a relaxed drink or cocktail. In the centre of everything but not expensive to sit and have drinks.

United KingdomWe had room 501 the receptionist said it was a small double??? I assumed he ment the room was a bit small which it was, the bed was a small double not a standard double and up against the wall, I checked my booking details and I'd booked a standard room, in my opinion this room is only suitable for 1 person it felt tight for the two of us, I didn't complain as I knew the hotel was fully booked due to a Bruce springsteen concert at stadium of light on 22/05/2024 which we had come up to Newcastle to attend, and had booked it back in November 2023 This, was the only complaint about our stay. Everything else was ex Excellent
The hotel was very clean all public areas where lovely breakfast was very nice staff there very friendly
