Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNegative points: Room only had a skylight so a view of the sky rather than a normal window. One of the pillows looked grubby. No wifi in the room. No cooked breakfast except for fresh toast. Very low sink in the ensuite which was just above my knees. Me being 6ft3 probably does not help.
Positive points: great location, majestic building with grand entrance and staircase. Good contintal breakfast with a selection of cheese, meat, pastries and cereals as well as marmalade and jams.

United KingdomMaybe the mattress in our room is ready for changing soon. 3. The springs clunk a bit when you turn, but otherwise the room and furniture was pleasing. We loved the view.
Breakfast was served in a pleasant relaxed manner. The choice of food was good. We all enjoyed sitting down together to eat our choice of breakfast without being rushed. It was nice to be able to help ourselves to more, when needed. Thank you.

United KingdomThe check in was a bit... abrupt. He seemed rushed, perhaps stressed, didn't give me the key card and then seemed to suggest that I'd had it or something? Not outright, but he didn't seem to believe me. There's no licence so no alcohol which was in the booking I think but not ideal obviously. The breakfast felt a bit lacklustre. But mostly, it felt like nothing was really explained - no information booklet in the room, I walked into breakfast and the guy was in the kitchen so I didn't know if I should sit, start or what. Other people seemed to have toast but you had to know to ask him for it, he didn't offer it. I'd have loved the opportunity to have a look at the grounds but didn't know if I was allowed so I didn't even look.
The place was gorgeous - beautiful building and gorgeous surrounds. Near enough to the town to be useful but felt quite remote. The room was excellent, loved the cute bathroom up two stairs so it felt a bit regal. Great bed. TV worked. Quiet surroundings with bird song. Loved it.

United KingdomBreakfast was limited; cereal, a small amount of mini pain au chocolat, toast, cold meats, and fruit. Would have been nice to have a few more options for breakfast and possibly the option of a cooked breakfast or breakfast sandwich. Also heating on in rooms made it very hot at night and couldn't turn it off. Had to open windows to try and cool it down.
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Very lovely staff, friendly and welcoming. Gorgeous room.

United KingdomThe TV stand and / or the table it sits on were very wobbly and the remote didn’t work but very minor points.
The hotel is well located and is a beautiful listed building and sympathetically restyled. There’s plenty of parking and the continental breakfast was lovely and plentiful. The staff were particularly nice - Marise arranged a beautiful room for us to mark a celebration and both the gentleman who checked us in and the lady at breakfast the following morning were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.

United KingdomPeople should be aware that no food is available on week day evenings and there is nowhere local to get food, no cooked breakfasts are available just a cold table. There is also no bar facilities as the hotel is not licensed for the sale of alcohol. There is no Internet access so was unable to work in the evening, phone signal for me (O2) was also very poor
The hotel building was a lovely old house and the room was clean with everything needed

United KingdomBreakfast fine, but there was no marmalade! The restaurant wasn't open, and they had no licence for the bar during our stay - which meant that we had to go out on foot or by car for meals - would have been nice to have stayed for one evening meal.
Good place to stay. Our room (Room 1) was at the front, which overlooks the car-park and a tree-covered hillside. Large, with a decent bed. Easy access by car to all sorts of places. However, for foot/bike access, be aware that this is halfway up a hillside out of Bingley, and the nearest bus stop is only 2/3 the way up to the hotel. The most pleasant walk downhill is via side-roads/footpaths to Five-rise locks (NICE cafe) then down the canal to Three-rise locks and into town. Breakfast - they currently provide continental breakfast - a good selection of cold meats, cereals, pastries, juice, toast, jam, tea/coffee. We only stayed two nights, as part of a planned holiday, but it was very nice.

United KingdomThe room was really hot and we couldn’t turn it down, we didn’t actually say anything to the staff which is our own fault…I’m sure if we did they would have helped.
The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was really nice and the bed was super comfy. This hotel is really quirky, very accommodating and just genuinely a nice place to stay. My daughter thought she was staying in a castle.
