Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CroatiaWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Pines Hotel and Restaurant. The rooms were spacious and impeccably clean. The location was truly remarkable, offering breathtaking views of the Ben Nevis range and overlooking a charming small creek, visible from the dining room as well. The breakfast spread was impressive, with plenty of options for a shorter stay. However, it was the dinner experience that truly stood out. It was one of the best dinners we had in Scotland, with ever-changing daily menus accompanied by stunning views. Highly recommended!

We didn't book a table in restaurant. Staff very accommodating as we arrived later than expected. They managed to get us a table and it was well worth it. The set menu was absolutely delicious. Lovely room and very comfortable.

FranceThe room for breakfast and dinner was really really cold. I sneezed all the time here, the food became quickly cold and I had to wear my jacket for dinner. Please turn up the temperature. Would be great to have smart TV as well as most people travel for hike and want to rest in room the evenings.
Breakfast was really good and the restaurant as well. The view is fantastic.

United KingdomA mixture of up-an market restaurant and rooms in a "lodge" style. Pleasing views across the grounds towards the Ben Nevis range of mountains and close to the "Commando" memorial. Heavy emphasis on the food both for dinner and breakfast but the rooms were clean, well-appointed and comfortable.

United KingdomI couldn't help but notice that one of the managers could possibly be a bit more approachable. As I was about to check out, I felt a slight disconnect when I wanted to inquire about purchasing some snacks to take away. While there was nothing explicitly negative about her words or behaviours, a warmer and friendlier approach would have made the experience even better.
It truly stood out as a highlight of our trip. The room's comfort and cleanliness provided me with the best sleep of our highland journey. The delectable biscuits in the room were a delightful surprise, although I regret not inquiring about the possibility of purchasing more. Our dinner reservation was equally impressive, with exceptional food that left a lasting impression. I wholeheartedly endorse this wonderful establishment to fellow travellers.

ItalyGood enough food but not to the point of showing off with those micro portions for dinner and breakfast. Or at least ask if one wishes for more. For instance a serving of porridge was taking up all of the bottom of a teacup...

Beautiful location, small hotel, very comfortable and nice decor. Geese and goats provide entertainment outside. If you eat dinner you have to eat the set menu which seemed dear. However we were wanting a treat on our holiday and it didn’t disappoint. Beautiful food, made with care looking out over the Ben Nevis and grey Corrie ranges. Great veggie options. Very special. Breakfast was also delicious with a good choice for vegetarians. Property is pet friendly but pets not allowed in restaurant or lounge. When you realise how small the area is it’s completely understandable and our dog was fine in the room for a couple of hours after a good walk. The walking and scenery is magnificent and the restaurant a great place to take advantage of the views.
