Smoking point outside broken bedroom window Foul and disgusting language by an older local man in the bar with his mates.

Bed in bedroom 1 little small, window would not close and needs repair and net curtains held up by a rusty screw which failed several times. Smoking point allowed right outside the window by main entrance not good enough and disgusting smells. Seems to be an open bar for locals which is fine but the torrid F and C language from one older man a couple of feet away from my wife was a disgrace. Food was excellent and staff very attentive with special mention to Angela on reception and Shamus in the Bar and Restaurant. Overall an OK stay but a bit of maintenance required in some areas.

We did not like the TV being on in the dining room while we were eating. The door to the bathroom would close properly even though there was a sign asking us to keep it shut so the fire alarm was not activated, this could be easily rectified.

The room was bright and airy. The bathroom was large and well appointed. The restaurant was very good and the food excellent.

Can't say there was anything I didn't like

The hotel is up the hillside in Tobermory, as such had fantastic views, but is a steep walk up/down to/from the town. The room was a good size with all needed amenities. Also the bonus of a wee cooler, which for someone like me who drinks far more fizzy juice than tea or coffee meant I could get my cans nice and cold. Breakfast was buffet for cereals, toast, yougurt, tea, coffee and fruit juice. Hot items were ordered via the server and the plate brought to your table. I ate in the lounge bar most nights and found the evening menu varied and a good price. After I lost the use of my phone during my stay the staff were helpful organising taxis etc from reception.

Overall the building is old and I think in need of a renovation soon.

Our room was very spacious and had a separate space where we could put our suitcase and toiletries. The property was very conveniently located and there was parking available. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very helpful and even prepared us breakfast bags to take with us, as we had to leave very early in the morning.

The price was excessive for an average sized room. The facilities were basic e.g the bar, restaurant and breakfast area were all in the same room. This area was lacking in atmosphere.

Staff very friendly. We were happy with the cleanliness of the hotel.

The soundproofing in the bedroom was awful. When the guy in the next room spoke on the phone it was very intrusive. Also did not like radio played in restaurant (especially when it was competing with football on TV in bar).

Staff good, helpful and friendly. The room was fine other than noise . Provided a secure place for cycles to be parked. The place looked as though it had been recently decorated and they were doing more work to the outside areas which looked good.

We liked everything but the steepness of all the roads, once you left the main harbour road, was a bit of a shock! Nevertheless our driving skills improved!!

The hotel is a little old fashioned and rooms could do with updating of furniture, reminded me of my childhood bedroom back in the 70s/80s. I couldn't figure out how to work the shower but my colleague had worked it out and explained, there is a cord hanging from the ceiling as you enter the bathroom so you need to pull that down for shower to work, no instructions in the room so I would add this to the folder of information.

Great location at the top of the hill and my room had a view over the water so a definite plus point. On arrival the sun was shining so we got a drink from the bar and sat outside, the beer garden is very sheltered so didn't feel too cold. Garden is well kept with some good wooden seating and tables. We had dinner in the restaurant which was really good 2 people, 2 courses, 2 bottles of cider £56.00. Breakfast was also in the restaurant and there was a good selection of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, pastries followed by a cooked breakfast which was delicious. We paid £135 per room for B&B, but I'd expect this to rise in the summer. The staff are lovely and make you feel really welcome and facilities are spotless. Rooms are a good size with en-suite bathroom which is also good size also, TV on the wall which has all the Apps installed so you could log in your own details and watch if you wanted. I would definitely stay here again and look forward to my next visit.
