Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThat we didn't have more time!
The venue was clean and spacious. The views are incredible. We needed a travel cot and within the day there was one waiting for us. Brilliant utilities and having wood foe the fire available was a nice touch.

Beautiful location next to the loch and crinan canal just across the road. Great appartement with modern kitchen and appliances. Contemporary bedrooms with nice decor and comfortable beds. Very clean throughout. Lots of space both inside the appartement and the grounds around the house. We could not fault it and would definitely return on our next visit to the area. We highly recommend this accommodation.

Spacious, roomy, garden with access to the Loch...waders, herons, gulls and ospreys. Ancient history sites around Kilmartin fab. Beaver visitor centre and walks. And The Rumblin' Tum cafe in Ardrishaig!

United KingdomKey was in the door. The receptionist of the owners hotel in Oban didn't know where the flat was to give us directions when I phoned with an ETA. She found someone who did know where it was On arrival the 2 televisions didn't work and we couldn't fix them the wood burning fire door was broken and there was no draft so the fire sizzled and went out. Some heater were switched off and some set to 14 degrees so it was warm on arrival but a bit chilly sitting down for any length of time. Felt a bit deflated as had driven 450 miles to get there, stopping to collect my 89 year old mother. The upstairs neighbour arrived the next morning to assist us, by which time I'd sorted one television and the other didn't have any volume and the sky card was out of date. The following day the cleaner arrived and helped me set up the heating and helped me to move a heater into the living room as it was quite cold as all the heaters were at 14 degrees. She realised that the wood burner door was broken and failed to shut. Exiting the property onto the main road blind was very stressful, one exit had ivy blocking the view the other a neighbour had parked on the pavement and obscured the view of the road. It is the main road to Cambelltown and lorries were driving past a 40 mph. A welcome pack with a pint of milk and some basics and a friendly face to welcome us and show us around would have resolved most of the issues. The owner lives 40 miles away and couldn't visit. A folder with the electrical items instructions and a basic welcome sheet with instructions on what to do if you experienced any problems with heaters and televisions would be helpful in future. Giving the number of the hotel receptionist who wasn't familiar with the flat as a contact number wasn't very helpful.
Lovely spacious flat, with high ceilings, large bedrooms. Huge garden with a jetty to the loch.
