A lovely old country inn surrounded by beautiful countryside and away from the main towns of Stroud and Cirencester. All the staff are excellent and very welcoming. A great choice of food and drink and reasonably priced. Superb breakfast and dinner and well kept real ales. The accommodation was very comfortable.

We stayed in the "annex", which is surprisingly modern for being next to such a charming inn, so that was a bit of a dichotomy for us...but bed was comfortable and shower worked fine, so I can't complain too much about the decor.

Rustic inn with a good restaurant. With a surprising amount of gluten free options for my wife. Morris dancers showed up during dinner as well, so we got a show as well as dinner!

Maybe felt a little of touch sleeping in the annexe rather than the old inn, but as against that it was very quiet and comfortable.

Accommodation was in an annexe - quiet and very comfortable. Dinner was in the bar - food very good and imaginative. Excellent breakfast, pleasantly and promptly served.

Very minor criticism, the long length mirror wasn’t near any sockets for drying hair.!! A small mirror above the desk near sockets would have been handy.

Staff friendly, polite & gave us a warm welcome. Rooms clean & evening meal in the pub was superb as was the breakfast.

That we left and went somewhere else!

Beautiful location close to everything. We booked another place further north for the rest of our trip and my son said “we should have just stayed at The Crown!” Nice mix of old stone pub and modern renovation of guest rooms. Modern bath, updated electrical with no need for converters, comfortable beds . The breakfast is served in a lovely room good food and great service. The pub/restaurant on site has stone walls, big fireplaces, antique furniture, oriental rugs and allows well behaved dogs. Food is very good. Staff is great. Also a nice big outdoor patio with a stunning view. Would highly recommend

Very clean and comfortable room. Female toiletries disposal unit would be helpful in bathroom. Evening meal was delicious. Breakfast also but would have preferred cafetiere rather than coffee being poured as soon as we sat down. This is not a critism but a personal preference. Would definitely stay here again.

The one downside was the flushing in of the toilet. The flushing-action so to say wasn’t great and after it took like 15 minutes doe the reservoir to be full again.

    The location and the people.
