Bar closed too early, had wanted to finish off with drinks at the hotel after a meal out but it was all locked up

Staff very helpful & accommodating. We booked this hotel for convenience as we were taking part in a cycle sportive the following day with start & finish in Wooler. The chef kindly offered to come in 1 hour earlier so we could set off sooner on cycle event.

No door knob on exterior of bathroom door. Breakfast was a little overcooked.

Rooms feel a bit tired and in need of TLC. TV didn't work, asked for help and were given a box to plug into but not technical and couldn't work it out. Manged without using wifi and phone. Went for dinner on the Friday night at about 7.45, we were given menus and a specials board but when we went to order food just after 8pm we were told the food service finished at 8pm (unfortunately we weren't made aware so didn't end up eating the hotel and had to get a take away instead which was disappointing as it was my husbands birthday).

Amazing friendly welcome from the staff. Hotel very dog friendly which was why we had picked so we could take our dog with us. Breakfast was really good lots of choice. Room was on 2 floors, ground floor had a lovely comfy bed and sitting area. Upstairs there was a walk in shower and 2 roll top baths which was a lovely surprise.

Had carvery at this hotel before and it was exceptional this time we had a bar snack on the evening and again it was exceptional there was nothing to fault and we definitely will be going back

Our room was over the bar, so it was a little difficult to get an early night sleep, after a long drive, because of the live band playing below us. I appreciate thats down to us wanting an early night. To end on a plus, it did end at 11:00pm prompt. :-)

Few old cobwebs we noticed around our room but generally clean Few little maintenance issues but nothing too bad little radiator leak and they had electrical issues but didn't really affect us

Gorgeous hotel in a beautiful setting, ideal for a romantic break. Staff were fabulous and the manager was so lovely. Food in the lady muck bar within the hotel was delicious. Highly reccomend.

I didn't get the room I booked, I paid a bit more for the deluxe king room which in the pictures showed a free standing bath in room but I got a double with a shower room so felt over charged for that.
