Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI was in Room 4 and had a great bed near the window but this meant either the light was allowed in of the window was open for air. It gets dark kind of late in London this time of year. I was in bed in full daylight. Toilets usually have paper, except when they don't. You may want to bring your own. Room 4 was on the 2nd floor, so I had to haul my bags up 3 flights of stairs.
The staff were very friendly and gave me better discounts at the pub. I stayed at The Steam Engine the night before. There either someone was smoking in the room or outside the window on the street. The washrooms were more private with shower, toilet and sink in each. Both Publove locations are hostels over pubs, so they want you to spend money in the pub and don't provide a way to store or prepare food. White Ferry offer a 10GBP cheeseburger, fries and beer (or soft drink) that is a great deal. Breakfast also seemed to have more cheaper options (like a 9.5GBP Full English, which was 12GBP at The Steam Engine)

AustraliaWhile most travelers were pleasant, unfortunately there were an inconsiderate few who made a lot of noise in the early hours of the morning (rummaging and moving around loudly for near an hour without leaving the room). Makes it hard to get proper rest overnight. Tends to be many older age solo males in the shared dorms which may not be expected. Wide mix of demographics, not predominantly a backpacker crowd.
Rooms are more spacious than another PubLove location we stayed at (higher ceilings and bunks spaced further apart) Bathrooms and rooms were regularly cleaned throughout the day. All staff were nice.

AustraliaToilets are very wet, and very dimly lit. Not like the photos. Wish the bunks came with curtains and the lockers were bigger.
Rooms were nice, comfy beds. Lovely staff as well!

Good price, location and generally interesting building in and of itself The employees are good at what they do. There was a situation with one of my roommates that had to be kicked out at the middle of the night -which could happen at any hostel-, and the night receptionist did the correct job to manage the situation, avoid escalation and solve it. Due to this I couldn’t sleep much but it’s not their fault

AustraliaBeds were comfy and warm, however the bunks are 3 levels so when one person moves, everyone feels it. No privacy curtains or shelves on the beds, there’s 2 usb ports and 2 wall sockets but the USB ports didn’t work. The lockers aren’t big enough for two bags, my 40L backpack fit quite snugly but no space for my smaller bag. There’s a key card for access to the hostel and rooms, but mine randomly stopped working after one night so had to go down and wait for it to be reset. No lift, just stairs but only 3 floors so it’s fine. Definitely not enough toilets to accommodate the people staying, and they’re all so wet all the time so you can see the mould build up, and toilet paper ran out a lot without being replaced over the entire day. Generally though the hostel was tidy, and even with a bar downstairs it wasn’t loud in the dorms.
The best part of the whole stay was the food, great burgers and great breakfast, with discounts for people staying at the hostel. Pub quiz every Thursday which draws quite a crowd, and all the staff were super friendly. Decent location, only a 5 minute walk from the bus stop and maybe 10 minutes from the train, but it is going away from everything else so walking this way at night you’re one of the only people on the street.

United States of AmericaThe only real problem I had were the bathrooms. Some of the showers didn't drain very well and didn't vent the build up of steam effectively.
Location was perfect for my needs to public transportation, parks and tourist sites. The beds although a bit small were adequate and generally comfortable. The staff were very friendly, knowledgable and accomodating. I also appreciated the ability to have food prepared 24/7.

FinlandNo reading light on the bed. Very hard to squeeze in a bunk bed. Ear plugs necessary like in every hostel. The house is tiny and for solitary travellers
It is close and remote at the same time. Good blankets, clean and fresh except modest shower areas, nice little pub with good drinks and burgers. Peaceful. This was my 3rd or 4th time there.

United KingdomThe beds were very uncomfortable. The mattresses were not thick enough and could feel discomfort from the bed frame below. The top bunk of 3 shook with everyone’s movement. There was an emergency light in the ceiling that had a small but overpowering bright green light that lit the room in a sickly green tinge and on the top bunk was hard on the eyes.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The luggage lock up was great. Being able to secure my stuff while I explored before check in was the best.
