Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

We didn't got a good introduction and I missed an email which could get us inside.
The guesthouse was very neat and had all the things in the kitchen you will need!

We had not received the e-mail for self check in, so had to call three different numbers before we got instructions. But the host was very friendly and apologizing. This was the only down-side of our stay.
The guesthouse and the eco-village was really nice. Wish we had had more time to look arround in the village.

The building was very smelly from food and cooking. It needs a bit more ventillation.

The bathroom didn't have soap or shampoo. Bring your own.
The rooms were spacious and well-lit. The room had a kitchenette, including an electric kettle, which was very useful for us. There was a well-equipped shared kitchen, but we didn't use it or didn't see anyone using it. Entering the room was easy, and instructions were detailed. The breakfast was fantastic! It is in a separate building, as noted in the instructions. There were enough vegetarian options to fill you up.

Not enough toilets for the amount of people, room was small.
Location was remote but close to the golden circle area. Kitchen was big and coffee was available. The surroundings are nice too. We didn't meet the staff since it's self check in. Good value for money

The hot water smelled so strongly of sulfur. We were in room 4 and the large family in the kitchen was so loud until about midnight. Since we were right next to the kitchen it kept us up
It had a nice Living room area with a couch and kitchen area. It was clean. The room was nice.

The showers were not clean. The toilet was with the shower, hence there were significant delays getting the shower, or toilet. We tried to see management but they were not around.
Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Kitchen was spacious and well appointed. There were good lounge areas available. The overall village appears to assist others, which is fantastic. Breakfast was excellent.

No hairdryer in the room.
The whole place is quite nice. The breakfast is OK. Is quite comfortable. The common area was very clean and well equipped.

The beds weren't super-comfortable. And the doors make a LOT of noise opening and shutting. Noise, in general, was a problem with other travelers on different sleep schedules coming and going at all hours. But we were tired enough we didn't mind that much!
The included breakfast was terrific! The staff accommodated our need to leave early. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were spacious and well-appointed. it's a great location to explore the Golden Circle while being away from it all. We wish we'd had another day there to enjoy just relaxing on the property (as it is, we mostly used it as a place to sleep). It served that need admirably, and the beautiful setting was a nice bonus!

Hair was left in the shower. The shower also did not drain which flooded the bathroom.
Great breakfast spread. We appreciated having 2 full beds for 4 people rather than a bed and a sofa bed. Nice area to walk around.

I did not notice any instructions on where the breakfast was being served.

The bathroom situation was a bit tricky and the walls between the rooms appeared to be quite thin.
The breakfast was good and the accomodation offered a big living area for everybody. Furthermore, there was a big kitchen which could be used for cooking with all the neccessary tools.
