  • Minshuku Miyama Review Score: 9

“Everything about it was fabulous! The hosts were friendly and gracious, and the lack of a common language between us didn't get in the way of being able to connect and communicate. The room was perfect, with gorgeous views of the hills and fields around the minshuku. It rained while I was there, which added to the lushness of the surrounds. Access to the outdoor onsen was a highlight.”

  • Sakaeya Review Score: 9.4

“The spaces are gorgeous with the most hospitable staff. All the Onsen facilities were top class especially the outdoor one. We didn't feel like going to any other onsens in town after being in our hotel. Our breakfast and dinner was exemplary with our vegetarian needs taken into account beautifully by the host and chef. We are very grateful for the effort.”

  • Yorozuya Review Score: 9.3

“The ryokan is very well organized, everyone is focused on providing a superior customer experience. I selected Yorozuya because of its beautiful onsen but I came away with outstanding memories of the kind and helful staff, the amazing breakfast and dinner experience.”

  • Wafu-no-Yado MASUYA Review Score: 9.3

“Super friendly staff, explained everything and is always around. Rooms are japanese style and very spacious. Excellent dinner and brekkie. The private Onsen is also nice and cozy. We liked the typical atmospher of the small Ryokan.”

  • Five Peaks Yudanaka Review Score: 9.5

“My stay there was lovely! My family and I really enjoyed ourselves at this place. The space was really huge and it was accessible by car. The hosts were also prompt in their response and very kind and helpful! It was a good stay.”

  • Wafu-no-Yado MASUYA Review Score: 9.3

“Me and my friends stayed at this ryokan for one night. The welcome by the staff was incredible. Everyone was very attentive and tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The kaiseki is the best we had on our trip so far and the Japanese breakfast did not disappoint. It’s important to note that this property is right next to Shibu Onsen so you’re not allowed to use the 9 public baths. However, this does not make the experience any less magnificent. The baths in the property are beautiful. They switch between male and female visitors during different times of day. Apart from that one does have access to two public baths in the beautifully traditional back alley leading to Shibu Onsen. We can only recommend staying at this Ryokan.”

  • Yudanaka Yasuragi Review Score: 9.4

“It was very calm, clean. The bath was very relaxing. The internet works very well. Food is good. The owners were very helpful and nice to us. They picked us up from the station, brought to Snow Monkey park and also cooked vegetables for our 2 years old and gave a gift as a memory.”

  • Hotel Omodaka Review Score: 8.5

“The staff at the Omodaka could not have been more helpful. The room was great, spacious and clean and comfortable. The facilities, including an Onsen, were fabulous but it was the attitude of the staff that made our stay such a great experience. We were collected from Yudanaka station and given a lift to the start of the Snow Monkey trail. We also had dinner at the Hotel, which was another great experience and also great value.”

  • Minshuku Miyama Review Score: 9

“Lovely Japanese hotel. Great breakfast and welcoming hosts. We had a car so we could drive into Shibu Onsen to look around this lovely little village.”
