Such a pleasant experience, the family that runs this place offers breakfast daily and dinner for extra. It was totally worth the money. The meals were made me feel so good after eating them. The room itself had a private bathroom and nice details

This was our second time here, our first stay was in 2017. Very nice host, comfortable and spacious room (for Japan :). They could accommodate an extra bed free of charge for our son. Delicious meals but vegetarian only. Good location. Nothing to complain about.

A great surprise that our room had a fantastic view of the ski slopes and mountains. Staff were very friendly and accomodating, felt homely and so nice to experience a bit of the Japanese culture. Location was great too!

Comfortable room, in small family-run hotel, with views across the village to the mountains and snow Excellent hosts - very obliging. Excellent traditional breakfast and dinners (dinners are booked separately). Easy 10min walk to travellator..past onsens, shrines and traditional buildings.

2nd time staying here. A must for vegetarians. Food is amazing. Owner is very helpful and friendly. Location is near onsen and Yu Road which takes you yo Hikage ski area.

Stayed here with my sister. The food - breakfast and dinner - prepared by the inn keeper is absolutely incredible. All vegetarian and fresh ingredients. She is a true chef. Do not miss!! Room had a lovely view by a rushing small river. Thank you so much!

My room, the view on the village was beautiful ! Really comfortable, with hot water and complimentary tea ! The private bathroom was a real plus, as well as the yukata provided by the lodge. Lovely and welcoming hosts, and ideal location. I loved the light sound of water/river by the hotel, it's a very soothing and calming music to me. Would come back next year, if there's any room available !

It is not that I didn’t like it but would have been even better if the towels were thicker but that is NOT a complain.

Nothing really to dislike but for older travelers, you will need to pull your luggage up a small hill to reach the hotel. No elevator in the hotel, so will need to carry your luggage up the stairs to the 2nd floor where all the rooms are located. But no big deal for younger travelers.

Less than 5 mins away from the bus station. Small but cozy, clean, comfortable, with helpful staffs.

It is very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed the room, the bath, and the meals. The dinner was the best meal we have had in Japan!

Beautiful scenery and view from the hotel and room view. Apart from the slope (only because we have stroller) else it's a short walk from everywhere to/from the hotel. The biggest plus for this hotel is the private toilet for us. But amazingly everything was perfect. The owner and staffs are very friendly and helpful, the room neat, tidy, cosy and clean. They do cleaning daily. We also ate the special vegetarian dinner meal prepared by them and it's fantastic. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back again if we are in Nozawaonsen! Thank you Hatoguruma Kawabata for the perfect memory! :)

It is old style accomodation which was very simple and comfortable and a lovely experience. Bathrooms were a little small but actually ok for Japan.

In my four week trip around Japan this was by far my favourite accommodation. The room was so cosy, warm and it had great views. I was surprised to find the futon beds really comfortable. It was also refreshing to have storage in our room for luggage because most accommodations in Japan are tiny. As for the location, it is easy to get to the ski fields, onsens, the bus stop and restaurants from here. If you go here, definitely get the home cooked breakfast - it was delicious and a very wholesome experience. Lastly, the couple that run this Ryokan were gorgeous - thank you for the great stay!

-like someone said, the toilet flushing sounds like you're openning a portal to another dimension🤣 -have to walk a bit from the bus stop and little uphill

-BREAKFAST AND DINNER WERE SUPERB -Very homie vibe like I visited my grandma house -The owner lady is sooooo kind! She helped with everything possible and also gave us advice/directions for skiing. We went during the early season so only the further gondola is open, but she help dropping us off many times during our stay
