Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandThe first night I was given a smoke room and also a room that should never have been used as a room for guest to stay for there are three flowing pipes were buried through the wall or the floor of this room (the room number is 455) How do I know? I was basically awake the whole night and in the morning, I heard three times of loud beeping at a seperate time, after each beep, the flowing sound stops. The hotel did not do as agreed to give me a smoke free and quiet room to begin with. I arrived late that day and then I put down my luggage and went out for dinner and had a stroll. Then I came back and noticed the noise. I was very tired but could not sleep. I was told by a nice staff there that I can only change room from next day. They did change my room the next day. But what happened is that there are clubs nearby? They played loud drum/base music until early morning.

SwedenThe common areas are due for a renovation and the staff was friendly but didn't go out of their way to make me feel welcome. Room was smaller than I expected.
Friendly staff, affordable price, and alright location. Reception manned 24/7 which is always nice. Room was clean and well equipped.

United States of AmericaOutside, the building looks old, low ceiling a the room floors, doors as well. It feels like you've grown. The room is really small too compared to other Japanese hotels I've been to. Not enough space to leave your bag next to the bed or between the desk/tv and the beds. Only place is the room entrance. The bathroom reminds you of being in planes bathroom.
Just picked the cheapest hotel in town (with a 2 twin bed configuration). For the price, it's not bad tough. The walk is a bit long (20 mins) from the rail station but it's located not too far from main road, and hosts many shopping stores and convenient stores. Staff allowed us to checking a bit before the official checkin time (to be noted as some Japanese hotels would only do it exactly at 3pm).

JapanThere was a smoke smell, although my room was a non-smoking room, I suspect it was through other who smoke in different rooms perhaps. The walls are very thin and I could hear a some noise of the residents around me and in the hall way. Also, the pillows were too hard and not the most comfortable. Furthermore, the Air condition had a weird smell to it, probably needs better filter cleaning. Finally the location is about 20 mins from the main Train station which was a bit far especially when it trains or carrying heavy luggage.
The breakfast was nice, the shower and the room as facilities were not bad as well but my complaint is mostly regarding the ambient and the surroundings not the furniture or the room structure per say.

United States of AmericaThis hotel was quite loud. Many people were talking in the hallway and you could hear it in the room. It is further from both the shin aomori shinkansen station and aomori station than convenient. As it was raining, I took the bus from Aomori station. I booked one night on booking.com and asked for an extra night at check-in. They said no, so I changed hotels in the rain the next day. But in the morning, there were rooms available on booking again. Frustrating. The foot of the bed is against the wall. If you are taller than 185cm, it might be a problem.
Price when I needed a room.

New ZealandI booked a non-smoking room but my worst expectation came true that I just got given a smokers room regardless. The elevator is tiny, the room was even smaller, if you have a normal sized suitcase, don't bother with the single sized room. I had my carry on suitcase and I had to put it on the bed to open it. I could touch the desk whilst sitting on the bed. This was by far the most expensive accommodation I had booked and the worst room I got by far in my 5 various hotels I have stayed in. Avoid this hotel unless it's dirt cheap (I wouldn't pay more than $40 per night). I didn't keep a photo of the room, but here's a photo of how outdated this place (featuring the most likely haunted telephone, it looks like it's been there since the early 90s).
It was fairly close to the station, a 15 minute walk. Other than that, nothing else.
