Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanySo many exceptional things about this place. Free water, free washing Maschine use, Chinese girl making healthy breakfast and food all through the day.. And so cheap. Showers functioning, many great travellers mingling. The perfect place for hanging out even for weeks. Beds in air con rooms apparently super comfy, fan rooms normal. Best stay in Malaysia so far

United KingdomA little more organisation of the fridge would be nice so we could fit our food in but it wasn't the end of the world and we survived
Really nice atmosphere at Tony's. There is a lovely lady who is on hand to cook breakfast and lunch at an affordable price all day! You can use the bikes to get groceries if you like to cook as we did. I recommend getting the rooms with Aircon if you can afford it as the tin structure makes it a bit of a sweat box but we didn't mind. There was free entrance to fresh water springs a 5 min bike ride away to cool off. Having coffee while watching the woodpeckers play in the morning was lovely and a great break from the noisy city! Rooms are basic and clean.

LithuaniaThere is nothing what I did not like.
Tony's guest house is a very nice place to stay! It is in a very calm place, no cars rushing around, just peace and harmony! :) The room I stayed in was basic, small but clean and nice with everything I needed in it. I am so glad I've booked a room with AC as it was very hot during the day and night. The shared bathroom and showers are simple but good. There is a common area-kitchen-dining-chill place which is absolutely cosy and awesome! Here you can cook your own meals, meet other guests ir just chill in the garden, hammocks. The most important - Tony is a very very nice and super helpful person, he helps with everything you need. He has even made the lists of activities, restaurants he recommends in the area for his guests! You can also order simple breakfast for really cheap and the meals are very tasty! Moreover, Tony is a super nice guy, very friendly and helpful in all the means!

Tony’s is the perfect peaceful and secluded guesthouse in penang to chill out and enjoy the beach/ jungle walks/ local food. Free bike service is incredible to explore the area on the cool refurbished whips (bmx the best! The chill out space and shared facilities are 10/10 and host a lovely atmosphere. I felt 100% relaxed. The rooms were clean and comfy- fans and bug nets was a great touch. Showers powerful and hot and plenty of them! Never felt crowded despite being almost full. Great for backpackers, families and locals. Tony is a kind and generous host. He is the best!

BelgiumThere were several caged birds. It made me sad. Also, the walls are paperthin so we were kept awake by a very noisy family or by dogs.
I loved the place. In nature! Quiet surroundings.

NetherlandsNo aircon but this was a choice we made ourselves.
Great stay, friendly staff and nice place. We stayed in the no aircon room, which was hot but we managed. There is free drinking water and coffee. To get into town you can either use the bikes they have or walk. The national park is closeby with some great hikes.

ChinaRemote location, inconvenient to the airport and city area. The accommodation has a large proportion of public spaces, and guests who make noise late at night will ruin your sleep.
The location is close to the natural park, which is the first choice for outdoor nature lovers.Good environment. The landlord is very welcoming. The night I arrived was Chinese New Year's Eve. The landlord took some tenants to a nearby Chinese gathering place to watch the fireworks show. It was an unforgettable night! Due to the weather, locals don’t use hot water for bathing. The landlord said he had prepared buying water heater to solve the problem of no hot water.

GermanyUnfortunately vegetables literally don't exist in the entire village, so be prepared for a rough diet if you care about that.
Super lovely host, hostel located at the end of a cute rural village, and great place to chill out! Exciting activities like the national park, butterfly farm or Escape theme park are right next door, so the location is awesome. Oh and I loved the 2 RYM per day bike rental, such a vibe!:D
