Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Nice, clean room. The fact that the room had a balcony was a very huge plus for us.

No bar of cafe nearby was the only downside would have been nice to be able to get a cold drink or night cap. Pillows were terrible.
Very good price and handy to have a Supermarket nearby. Free WiFi and also good value Ubers into centre

The gate to the house closes at 22 so it is not possible to store your car there overnight if you arrive later than that. Nobody speaks English there, the check in was handled with Google translate.
Room was large and very modern. Besides few hair it was clean and good space for clothing and things. Fridge, freezer and free water in the hallway.

A little bit far from the center, but its the only con for me.
Clean room with comfortable bed, desk, plugs, fast Wi-Fi. Quite hour starts at 10 PM, and that's great for me as I hate noise. There is a small public fridge and a microwave available.

Location was far. Even though it was informed that the breakfast wont be provided ,even the tea/coffee was also not there. We travelled on a weekend and arranging breakfast on a Sunday was difficult. Check in time was 2pm . I requested earlier check in and it was agreed to change it to 1 but later it was denied. We reached Gdansk around 6 in the morning and they didnt even provide us a bathroom to freshen up.
Apartment was neat and clean.

Owners treat Guests like intruders. We were getting married the day after arriving and Even found information on the properties website about them having a promotion/understanding with the owners of our wedding venue regarding newlyweds apartment. We weren’t planning on using that offer but it made us think they are familiar with and open to wedding related activities. When I mentioned me and a couple of maids would be getting make up in the room I was met with a huge surprise that someone would dare to put make up on in their rooms, wedding or not, and I was treated as if we were planning to paint all over the furniture on purpose. The worst part is that after I managed to assure them that wouldn’t happen, the owner corrected the green light I got earlier from another employee saying there is no way they can allow people who aren’t their guests to enter the property and there is no way we can use our room to prepare for the wedding, it was communicated in a very hostile way and as if it was unheard of to use hotel rooms for such purpose, even though it is very common practice. We wouldn’t be allowed to use a handheld steamer either because we would obviously burn the place down by doing so. I was informed about not being able to use the room I paid for to prepare for the wedding around 11 pm the day before the wedding which ruined all the logistics related to it and affected many other people. I spent the evening before the wedding crying and frantically trying to coordinate everything to make sure we find another place to prepare and still make it on time. We even talked to other hotels who couldn’t understand why we would feel we have to ask if we can use their room to prepare for a wedding including other guests, because it was that obvious for them it’s perfectly ok. We couldn’t get out of this place however because our car was behind an already closed gate.
Initially the proximity from our wedding venue. After arriving and having met the owner There was absolutely nothing to like.
