Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalaysiaThe furniture was old and showed indications of wear and tear. We had to use the cargo lift to get to our accommodation because the main lift was not operating. For breakfast, we must pass via the kitchen to reach the main dining hall.
We had a wonderful view from our room because we were on the top floor.

SpainThis is a 13 storey building and there is a major problem with the lifts which are highly unreliable and in my opinion as a retired professional engineer, they bear signs of neglect and I would not be surprised if they were long overdue their statutory inspections and maintenance requirements.

United KingdomThe decor is a bit dated but acceptable.
Definitely a room with a view, the hotel is at the top of 13 storey tower block. Room was comfortable, well equipped bathroom. Location, although not in the city centre of Porto, it is about 12/13 minutes walk to Trindade station, all downhill. There is a bus service from Campanha station, the 206, which stops just before the hotel building, the stop is called Escola Nova, you can walk up from either Trindade or Bolhao Metro stations but it is all uphill.

SpainIt is run down now. Elevators are very slow and not always working. Coming down the stairs run into close gate around 8th floor. Felt like a death trap. Couldn’t wait to leave that place.
It was luxurious hotel many years ago .

FranceThe building has a somewhat antiquated style and is located within one kilometer from the heart of Porto. This wouldn't be an issue if it weren't so uphill. The residence is somewhat spartan, yet it lacks nothing. It offers good value for money though."
The hotel is located north of the city, offering a pleasant view overlooking the Douro River. Being reserved for guests on the 10th floor and above, the view is particularly enjoyable. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful in every aspect; Pedro was a tremendous help to me.

Germany- very very old hotel - elevator light signs don't work - door to staircase is open only for some levels. If you get inside you might be lost somewhere in between, better avoid it - small room

United KingdomMy television didn't work and I had to report a problem with my toilet not flushing which to be fair was resolved very quickly and efficiently by the staff. The breakfast I felt was of a poor standard with no changes in what was offered on each of the four mornings. There was only one type of cheese and one type of cold meat. Coffee was nice though! Lifts also took an eternity to arrive.
View from the top floor restaurant was amazing. The room was a bit old fashioned but that did not bother me in the slightest. Had everything I needed.

SpainNothing around us in that Location we knew it was out a bit but thought there would be something near to us ie bar and restaurant Bars in hotel were not open although the receptionist said they had wine beer or water. We didn't eat in hotel restaurant in the evening. The breakfast was very minimal but passable. toast, pastry, apple orange roll, ham and cheese and a cereal. Same every day.
The view was good.

GreeceThe big problem in this hotel was the noice coming from the club in front of the hotel. Although we stayed at the upper room the noise was very annoying all the night.
We stayed at the 10 floor our room had wonderful views of Porto the room big, clean and had vintage decoration.

United KingdomThe decor has slight "overlook hotel" vibes. That is to say, it clearly hasn't been renovated in decades. its kinda kitsch in a way but I can't help but think how truly magnificent that place could be with a complete refit, particularly the restaurant. The bathroom really needs a curtain or blinds for the big window in there. While the sunrise view is stunning, nobody wants their retinas burned off at 8am trying use the toilet.
the views from both the room and the restaurant are stunning. not many places in Porto where you'll get that. The staff are friendly and professional. Despite it's age, I found it to be very clean. the continental breakfast is worth the money as there's a decent amount of things to choose from....Again, that view!

LithuaniaIt was hard to find the entrance to the hotel since we arrived at night, all tired and stuff. There was a sign but it's not too obvious haha. You enter from the side of the building where there's a steep road with some stairs. Also, the hotel is extremely outdated which is not a problem, the problem is that there's a huge lack of light in the room (at night), since there's no big light, and the water pressure is quite bad. But it's not a huge problem, I would come back again.
Good location, calm and safe. The views from the room were just stunning. The fact that the hotel is extremely outdated is not a big problem, it's actually somewhat charming. The staff is extremely friendly. The breakfast was great, I enjoyed it a lot; the views from the breakfast hall were also stunning. The rooms are rather clean. Overall I enjoyed our stay :)
