Positive section of review
Location was perfect, took dogs and were so gracious about it. Lovely bed, bowls and treats for them. The staff was so welcoming. The restaurant was fabulous. Food was great. Not what you expect at a restaurant attached to a hotel. But really excellent food. Right in old town so you walked to everything. Couldn’t recommend it more highly.

The location is great for getting to the airport by Metro. The residential neighborhood is quiet and safe to walk around at night. The host is helpful and friendly. The Wifi is fast.

The place is a house conversion done on the cheap. My bathroom was originally a closet and space is very tight. The room has a certain musty smell. The host tried to mask that smell with a bottle of scented oil diffuser. I could see spider webs on the ceiling. The flooring is a patchwork. Overall, I did not sleep well and regretted booking this place to save money.

We really loved the people working at Mares. Truly kind and helpful. The room was clean and loved the shower with no tub. The attached restaurant was really good as well.

I would only say if you have difficulty with stairs to be aware there are stairs.

The most peaceful sleep I’ve had. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Pool area very relaxing. Breakfast was great. Many restaurant options nearby.

View of the beach and sea was impeccable.

Bed was hard as a rock. Cold water only dripped from the bathroom faucet. Hotel is at the very end of the strand, so always a walk to somewhere. The hotel is built on a steep hill. Elevator down must be exited and another entered to go all the way down, then a long set of stairs to get to "ground"
