Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Romaniano insects protection for the windows, the floor makes sounds but I guess that's normal in refurbished old house, the private bathroom is across the room divided by a small hallway, the breakfast room is huge and has a lot of potential but the furniture is way too old and random, the street noise is pretty loud.
it's clean, comfortable beds, huge rooms, the location is very close to the train stations for Cascais and Sintra, the staff is very kind and helpful, the breakfast is between 8 - 12 at your own pace

PolandOur stay at Lost Lisbon was nothing short of amazing. From the spacious rooms to the stylish living room, every aspect of this place exceeded our expectations. The room we stayed in was incredibly spacious, offering a breathtaking view of the main street. The living room's design and furniture were top-notch, providing a perfect space to unwind after a day of exploring. Additionally, the location was unbeatable, making it easy to walk to the most important tourist areas. To top it off, the breakfast provided was simply amazing. If you're planning a trip to Lisbon and want a comfortable and convenient place to stay, Lost Lisbon is the perfect choice.

SwitzerlandLocation -> Super central, close by the ocean but also close to several clubs (it might get noisy overnight) but this should be expected from a central location. Room -> Room was very big, only not so comfortable aspect was the bathroom: it was still private for us but located outside, in the main corridor. Breakfast -> very good, fruits, bread, ham, cheese, eggs, yogurts, plenty of items.

BelgiumThere is no elevator and the rooms are on the second floor. Not a problem for me but just be prepared. A complimentary water bottle in the room would have been nice.
Location is great, rooms are big and clean. There is no reception but I got instructions by e-mail and whatsapp before check-in and it was super easy. You serve your breakfast yourself in a very spacious, originally decorated livingroom. All very nice!

GeorgiaThere is no sound isolation. You could hear your next door neighbour, but it was not a big deal as i was staying just 3 days. Keep in mind that if you have heavy bags you need to take them on the second floor which was really difficult for me.
Room was huge and full of sunlight. It was nicely decorated with old and modern facilities. The living room is a perfect spot to have cup of coffee and talk to people. I can't imagine the better location! Right in the city center, in front of the river Teju. Breakfast was good but always same.

United KingdomI didn't realise the bathroom was not attached to the room so didn't bring appropriate footwear to move between the two but didn't provide too much of a problem.
The place felt very homely and had everything you needed. The room had so much space and good views. The living room provides a space to chill outside the bedroom. Communication with João was brilliant and he was really helpful with any questions that I had. Location is amazing and right near TimeOut Market.

SwitzerlandAs the room was close to the main road, it was a bit noisy and hard to sleep. The bathroom, even though it is right across the hall, is still a bit uncomfortable as you have to go out of the room and cross the hallway.

PortugalUsed dishes were washed outside of the kitchen, next to our room and therefore it was noisy in the morning. Rather than that, everything was ok.

FranceHaving the bathroom outside the room is a bit strange at first although it’s only 2 steps across the bedroom. However, I find using key to open and close the bedroom and bathroom every time is pretty unconfortable. If they can provide touch key, you just need to swipe to open/close the door so I don’t have to put it and put out the key, that will be much better. As I traveled alone so I’m not dare to leave my bedroom door unlocked.
The place was decorated with detailed pieces of art. I can see there are a lot of passion put into it. Each room has its own charm, it’s not mainstream and you can’t find anywhere else. Especially the shared living room is spacious and very cozy. The host is also very friendly.

South AfricaNothing at all - I thoroughly enjoyed the “eclectic” mix between hostel & hotel.
Central location, very safe & comfortable, extremely clean, cool decor, friendly staff, breakfast was decent & sufficient. The private bathroom located directly across the passageway took some getting used to at first, but at the same time provided one with that “homely” feel. The Alcântara room was assigned to me, which is a corner room and thus has windows facing the main road out front, as well as on to the side alleyway (the latter also being applicable to the bathroom). Overall, a very cool base to explore Lisbon for a few nights, with Pink Street, Bairro Alto, the harbour walk etc. all literally a few seconds’ walk away.
