The decor and style of the place was not as expected and the beds were not as confortable as expected. But it's a fair price for what you get.

The staff was very helpfull and even changed one of our rooms for a better one. Location was very nice, it allowed us to be close to the river and also 15 min walking to the University.

I have stayed at this small hotel several times. The location is excellent, a minute away from the train station. It's right around the corner from an excellent BBQ restaurant with fantastic grilled chicken. The manager is great. The only problem is that sometimes you can hear loud conversations on the street and the food distribution center near the hotel. (It's a canteen for low income people.)

The bed is uncomfortable, couldn’t get good sleep. Also constant noise from renovation or machining even in evening around 10-11 pm.

Moderna is excellently situated, within easy walking distance from both the train and intercity bus stations, making it extremely convenient for travelers. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to the main attraction of the city, the Coimbra University, is a definite plus for exploring the area on foot. While the rooms may be on the smaller side, they exude a cozy atmosphere that adds to the overall charm of the stay. I initially encountered an issue with the AC in my room upon arrival, and despite the cold weather outside, it didn't seem to be working. The staff was quick to respond and asked me to wait, explaining that it needed some time to kick in due to the chilly conditions. After a few hours with no improvement, I informed the staff about the situation. They promptly addressed the issue by relocating me to another room on the top floor with a breathtaking view of the Coimbra University. The new room was not only cozy and warm but also provided a stunning backdrop. I appreciate the staff's swift and efficient response to ensure a comfortable stay. Kudos to their excellent customer service!
