Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No breakfast included. But you can go to Padaria Portuguesa close by.
Very big and comfortable room. Checkout time is ok. You can leave your bags at the hotel after checking out. Good location.

The hotel.was difficult to get to and the rooms were worn and frayed.

The first room I was in had a foul smell from the drains. Luckily the lovely staff member Julio moved me up to the 3rd floor where there was no smell. So just don't get a room on the first floor is my advice.
The staff were all great. Very helpful with any questions and how to get to places. The rooms were clean and had facilities to boil water for tea. The hotel isn't near any metro stations but has a bus stop right outside the door and it is easy to get around on public transport in Lisbon.

The breakfast is nice, but if I were to be picky I just wish it had more variety. It's quite simple but does the job to get you going for the day.
Nice location, close enough to metro stations, some places to grab a bite, and it was possible to go walking to the historic center. There's a bus station right in front of it that can take you to many areas of the city. The staff was super friendly, and the room was clean and nice. But the best part was that my wife and I were there for the New Year and our room had a window oriented toward the direction of Praça do Comércio, after a day walking the city we were too tired to go anywhere for the fireworks, but lucky enough we could see them at the distance from the window, so we ordered some food, stayed cozy inside chilling and saw some of the fireworks from the window. It was nice! :)

The only thing was a bad smell (like a sewage) in a corridor, and it came a little bit in our room. But it wasn't a big problem.
The room was quite small, but for couple nights it is more than enough. The location is good, just 2 minutes from a bus stop and 15 min to the city center. The area was quiet. The stuff was very friendly! We asked to leave our luggage for a couple hours after check out and there weren't any problems.

Unable to open the windows. They were, for some reason, sealed and no handles.
We were given a room which wasn't to my requirement, and I mentioned it to the staff at the reception, and the young lady changed the room immediately. I liked the view from the window. I liked the fact that there was a bus stop just in front of the entrance of the hotel.

The lake of different types of food for breakfast.
The room was quite and there was enough space for someone who only sleeps at the hotel. It has been cleaned every day, and towels have been replaced. Further, breakfast was good but not too many choices (for the price it is ok). The location is ok, you can go on foot or by the public transportation which is nearby. The warm hotel staff have all information that you need, such as what to visit, where to eat, etc.
