We have been staying here for short breaks over the past 5 years and know the island well. Great setting with fantastic views. Delightful, helpful staff. On bus route. Easy walk to supermarkets, bars etc… Interesting building, beautifully renovated with comfortable, practical decor and lovely spaces to chill. Everything works and the breakfast is plain and simple but good. We are always out of season so have never used the outdoor pool but it always looks like a great bonus. Highly recommended for a no frills, affordable stay where there are twin rooms with private bathrooms if preferred. We are booked again in February!

We didn’t like that the power wasn’t working near the pool area, we wanted to go out but it was pitch black.

The dorm room have 10 beds but only two plug sockets. The bathroom was not cleaned during my stay. The locker and towel cost extra.

Very noisy road outside, so difficult to sleep at times. Shower room drains smelt bad. No kitchen as in other youth hostels, so no kettle or chance of making a hot drink, or heating own food, which is unusual for a youth hostel. Coffee in coffee machine barely drinkable.

Receptionists unfailingly polite and friendly. Room clean and hot water in the shower. Breakfast buffet plentiful.

Breakfast was simple and basic but...hey....... it's a Youth hostel! We had nothing to complain.

We stayed for two nights at the Azores Youth Hostel. We booked a double bed room with our own bathroom. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was basic. Room was standard but clean. The beds were okay. Bathroom was simple but had a good shower. The shared space looked pretty good and also clean. Location was at the bezinning of the main street and you could walk easily to some great restaurants and supermarkets.

Wifi at the room was bad, mobile reception too. Lots of traffic outside, driving fast.

Beautiful place with magnificent sea view. I stayed in a group room and it was ok. All was clean and home looking. Great restoration work from the ancient building.

Maybe just bad luck with my timing but I stayed 3 nights and met 0 other adult travelers from the hostel. There were about 40 7th grade soccer players staying there with a coach, that’s it. I also thought the staff was pretty rude - never once greeted me when I walked in - which seems like a basic courtesy.

They lock on my credit card 25 euros, I explained before arriving, that this should be shared before clients do the booking. They justify with others guests having damage this hostel However I should not pay for this. they said they were going unlock this deposit 7 days after my check out. this is not pleasant. Indeed I don´t understand an don´t like be treated as a boy. I respected their policy , but do not like this treatment.

Most hostels have a fridge, teapot, cooking area ect that you can access. This one does not, it wasn’t a problem as there are areas to eat out and the do provide a small breakfast but if you are hoping to cook or store food that won’t be an option.

The hostel is clean, quiet and has an awesome pool.

had to pay a 50€ deposit when checking in, which was a little weird, since I never had to do this anywhere ever so far!

great room, very clean, breakfast okay (nothing special but very good for the price), very satisfied, will definitely recommend it to friends! :)
