The shower in our room leaked leaving a strong smell in the cabin. Lots of mosquitoes. If you want to go for a lively meal or few drinks it is not accessible by walking. Unless you are confident hiring a bike, you will pay approximately 150-200 baht per person into the main centre. This becomes an inconvenience when you stay for a couple of nights.

Really enjoyed the Aesthetics of the property. The pool was lovely and the beach was right outside the door. The centre is about 10-15 minutes walk to where you will find few cafes and a 7/11. It’s approximately 800 meters. The staff were very friendly.

The bathroom door was noisy with crevices on the door so less privacy.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was freshly cooked and always available. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, pool was lovely and beach was beautiful for sunset.

The hotel is in a location a bit deeper into the village and further from the main street - like 10-15 mins walking to the main shops etc, that was a bit exhausting, but with scooter it would be perfect.

Nice location, pool was mostly empty, nice beach property with everything you need, the hotel is basically on the beach so that was amazing. Beautiful location, greenery, nice bungalows - spacious and clean. We were really happy about this stay. The staff also helped us get taxi service which was very convenient.

Rooms (bungalows) are small.

Small family run resort. Beautiful beachfront and nice pool. Staff work hard to keep everything clean. Restaurant and bar on site. Within walking distance to restaurants, 7-11 and night market.

Slightly worrying electrical wiring which could be dangerous.

We absolutely loved the position of our hut right on the beach! Plus the fact the beach is private so quiet and calm. The best view. The gardens are very well kept and magical. The staff did their best to make sure everything was alright. Food eaten in the restaurant was really nice, plus it was open all day. Laundry done on site. Motorcycle rental right round the corner.

The swimming is not really possible in this beach more than get wet - water not very deep.

Great location, great access to every single area in the island and just 10 minutes from the ferry. Nice cosy pool and a lovely beach to enjoy for a nice walk and some sport.

Bathroom needs a bit of renovation, but nothing too problematic.

We had a house right on the beach and it was very nice. I think it is family run Resort, because everyone are so sweet and polite, I realy like that. You have a lot of options to order for breakfast.

The bathroom was quite dark and had a creaky door.

We got a warm welcome from very friendly staff. The location was beautiful, from the beach huts you were less than 30 seconds away from both the pool and the sea. There was a night market 10 minutes walk away with lots of food options. The beach hut style rooms were small but perfect for a short stay.

It was about a 10 minute walk to food places and taxis can be expensive to go further, but it was fine for a few nights.

The property was lovely, it had a pool and overlooked the beach. The rooms were done nice. Water in the room was a nice extra. The staff went above and beyond especially as it was one of our birthdays. They were very kind and helpful.

This isn't a fault of the resort at all, but there was a local festival at a nearby temple all week that played loud music till midnight or later most nights. Some neighbouring resorts also played electronic music. We were hoping to escape the "party" vibes of Phangan, so the noise in such a beautiful setting was quite disappointing. Maybe bring ear plugs? As other people have said, the beach here is not really "swimmable". The west coast of the island is very tidal. You'll need a scooter to access better swimming beaches. However, it is the best beach for long walks.

We really enjoyed our one-week stay at Morning Star. It's a beautiful setting in a garden with a well-kept pool that looks out over the beach. Our superior bungalow also had a sea view and plenty of space. The bungalows could do with some repairs and renovations, but I think this is the case for most places on the island. The wi-fi was good enough for us to do some work. There are many decent restaurants, night market, and 7-11 within walking distance. We walked the length of the beach most days and have to say Morning Star seemed to be one of the nicer accommodations in the area and definitely provided the best value for money that we could see.
