This was way far the best hostel I've stayed in so far in my Southeast Asia trip. It place was clearly conceived as a hostel from the beginning and not a random old building that was transform into a hostel.

There are some blind spots where the internet doesn't reach (like the last bed in the Siesta dorm, for example), but it wasn't really an issue; I just moved closer to the router.

There's a nice swimming pool conveniently located on the 10th floor. The breakfast was quite good as well.

I was surprised to be asked to pay a 1000 THB (or was it 2000 THB) deposit on arrival, which I didn't find very practical. The staff wasn't very friendly and not really welcoming, but after a while one of the receptionist told me that I didn't have to pay the deposit after all. We were told that some tourists from a certain country located to the north of Thailand can be pretty destructive at times in the room. This is the reason why they are asking for a deposit. The receptionist somehow judged that I would probably not trash the room, so she just waived the deposit. The main problem with this hotel is its location. It's facing a busy road and the Airport Railway Link and it's very difficult to walk anywhere. You could actually cross the road and then walk 15-20 minutes to Makkasan station but it isn't convenient at all. I really had the impression when I booked this hotel that it was more conveniently located, but there's really nothing in the vicinity. No restaurants, no shops, no 7-11. It isn't even that easy to catch a taxi and you have to either have the hotel call a taxi or wait for the free shuttle which departs every hour to Makkasan Station and Petchaburi Metro Station (Asoke). I have to say though that the staff was quite nice and they drove us twice to Asoke free of charge outside of the shuttle schedule.
