CanadaFor the price we were happy to have a clean bed with a bathroom on the beach but keep in mind that there is NO restaurant, NO toiletries, and NO minibar.
We really enjoyed our stay at Sunrise Bungalow. The facilities are very basic but the location is excellent. There is no restaurant but Sunrise Bungalows is next door to a resort that has a restaurant and high end coffee (which you can access from the beach on your doorstep) You get a towel each, but no toiletries or minibar.

SwitzerlandWe were not expecting luxury but at least good fresh sheets and towels. Not once in five days the sheets or towels were changed. The room was not cleaned and we had to buy our own toilet paper. We also were not provided with a blanket (we had the AC blowing onto us all night) and the fridge had ants in it. We wanted to bring some of the shortcomings to the attention of the management to no avail. Not the kind of hospitality one would expect sadly.
The location was great at the end of Lamai beach right next to grandfather's and grandmother's rocks!

PolandWifi not too good. Pillows were really not comfortable. There is a bar but is not working, so you can't buy anything to eat/drink there.
Awesome place in the end of the Lamai Beach. You just walk out of your bungalow and go for a swim in the sea - simple as that ;) Although buildings are quite old and they could be renovated a little bit, it didn't bother us. They just have specific summer vibe. This place is calm and chilled, it was pretty busy when we were there but nobody was loud or disturbing us, we really rested! Owner is super friendly and helpful. There is a couple of great food spots just outside the resort. There is fridge in the room!

GermanyUnfortuntaley a lot of investment backlog. Seems just to harvest the remaining time of this site. It is a pitty. Even no basics for cleaning like soap or shampoo. Quite expensive in comparison to other lodging even with breakfast.

NorwayThey were some dogs around the property, as others have mentioned, that made me feel a bit uncomfortable. The room I stayed will definitely benefit from a small “polishing” like painting however it’s understandable since the property is family owned and opened again in June after two years of Covid restrictions.
I had booked the bungalow in front of sea. The general feeling I got during my stay was that this was somehow my home. I felt comfortable from the first night and had no issues concerning the bed. The sound of the waves and wind helped me to relax and I was never bothered by other tourists or noises. The highlight of this accommodation is the owner ! She is friendly, happy to chat with you and funny. I loved all of our interactions. This also helped with cultivating the feeling of “home” and I find it particularly important for solo-women travellers.

Lovely place and quiet just beachfront of lamai beach. Nice bangalows with small fridge inside working well, I loved the garden with the plants and very nice space to chill out on the beach just in front of the resort. Away from the main road so it's very quiet. But also just less than 5 min walking from the main road and you have around super market, 7-11, massage spots, restaurants and Cafe bars. Very helpful and friendly staff.

United KingdomWas here for 3 days and the room did not get cleaned once. I'm not usually someone who gets rooms cleaned daily but the fact that we had no fresh towels, no toilet rolls and no duvet made me wonder why on earth someone would not offer this. Why did we not get given a duvet and why no toilet rolls? For 45 pound a night you would expect a cleaner to come in at least once and have a duvet on the bed. Disappointed. There was no facilities to even brush the room ourselves and no duvet on the bed. Also no kettle.
It was by a beach which was nice.

The bungalows are old and need replendishment. 700 euros for 12 nights in the beach front bungalow should at least include a small hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. The restaurant is closed and there is no warning about it. The owner is a very moody and rude woman who can shout at you for no reason. A redefinition of the word " hospitality" is necessary I feel. A traumatic experience for a female solo traveler

SwitzerlandThe owner lady is relatively rude as per Thai standards, always finds things/topics to complain about. The bungalows have seen their best days probably 30 years ago and nothing was done to modernize the place since then. Also the size of the bungalow was smaller than almost every hotel room I stayed in so far. The bed and matrace probably have the same age as the bungalow itself. Massage and restaurant where closed (probably never re opened after COVID). I am used to stay at run down places like this in Asia, but then I expect "local" prices. However, this was not the case and we found much better places for similar price just around the corner. Try to avoid.
Only positive thing about this place is the location directly by the beach.

That's the reason, why i will recommend here the "SUNRISE BUNGALOW", Koh Samui (established in 1974), as followed: This "small Resort" is still one of the most beautiful places in the world, straight at the beach! If you are surching for a quite, peaceful and lovely place, you will be absolutely happy here! You will stay at a clean & tidy Bungalow, in a real tropical garden, including hundreds of singing birds, and you can watch them, picking some food. If you like to swim & snorkel, this is possible at any time! - Even during lowtide - you will have a big "bathtub", to jump in! South-Lamai-Beach starts exactly here - if you like to "Party", just walk up the beach about 1,5km to "Downtown-Lamai"! Affordable Shops, Supermarkets, Restaurants and Laundry-Services - just a walk away from this wonderful resort! If you need something, or if you have any questions, just ask the extraordinary PUM and her friendly Staff! Thank you ALL so much (kop kun kaap!), for an absolutely relaxed stay!
