Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyWe really enjoyed our stay!
We had a wonderful time in Santa Barbara and the hotel was a great part of it. The children loved the birds and the pool and so it was also relaxing for us parents.

NetherlandsIt is noisy - you hear neighbours from upstairs and sides, you hear their air-conditioning unit. The windows are not soundproof, in fact, they have holes for ventilation. So you hear every car passing by on the road behind the hotel. And the hotel equipment and furniture is like 50 years old .
Spacious apartments, clean, free parking.

ItalyNothwithstanding the breakfast was included in our booking.com reservation, the hotel only provided us with 2 vouchers (we are 5), saying this was in line with their promotion. We asked to talk to the director but no one has come to us. Location not super good. Big comfortable rooms. Restaurant average.

United States of AmericaI had an early morning noisy neighbor upstairs - can't be sure whether this was due to the person (for which the hotel cannot be blamed), or that the floors are not sound proofed well. I would stay here again, but would opt for an upstairs room,
Friendly efficient staff, clean room, and a great location. Very walkable to Downtown, but not too busy.

FranceJust a little bit too expensive for what's on offer, having stayed in similarly-equipped establishments around California during the same period, but I guess that's part of the nature of reserving accommodation. There's a slight gap at the bottom of the bedroom door that was large enough to make it so that the cold air (on the night we were there) overpowered the best efforts of the heating/AC unit in the room - basically we had it on full heating, but it never managed to get warm enough. The location, while nice and quiet, and definitely in Santa Barbara, is far enough from the beach or center of the city that you do need a car, but Best Western does offer other (albeit comparatively more expensive) locations in the city to cater for this.
Hotel in a quiet location with parking in front of the rooms, a pool, and even a small independent café in the parking lot. Very clean and comfortable rooms, with a nice bed, bathroom and television - equipped with a fridge and bottles of water and biscuits on arrival next to the coffee machine.

United States of AmericaNice pool area, room clean and modern, comfy bet, good location, tasty restaurant on site with good breakfast. Room rates were low as I was visiting mid-week in early Spring (weekend rates were at least double, which would have been quite pricey -and this is a relatively basic hotel.). Location is good, beautiful hilly residential area next to downtown SB (next to Cottage Hospital precisely).

United States of AmericaThe beds in our double bed room were full size and we found that to be a little small - and the mattresses weren't that great.
Everything was absolutely perfect! Cutest hotel with a great restaurant and pool! The food at the restaurant was amazing and the staff at restaurant and hotel were the best! We had to walk about two miles each way to get to State Street. The pier is located at the bottom of State Street so an extra mile, but you are walking along shops and restaurants. It was a nice walk for us but if you are not typically active it may be too far. Other than one or two other hotels it's the closest location to State Street. All was great and our family of four had an amazing 3-day trip to Santa Barbara!!

IrelandThe first day I arrived I was exhausted, and at night I phoned to request a toothbrush. They wouldn’t deliver it to my room, I had to go down and get it. Also, the room cleaning takes place very late in the afternoon, not at a convenient time. Otherwise I was very happy with the stay.
The pool and jacuzzi are great, very clean and pleasant area. The bed was very comfortable.

NetherlandsThis place was fantastic! We were given a room by the pool, which had a small patio where we could get coffee in the morning. Beds were extra comfortable, and the place is so quiet we felt so rested in the morning! While the location is a bit outside the center, we easily reached downtown with the bus on the first day, and then just by walking about 30 minutes on the second day. Would definitely stay here again!
