Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Was hoping places would of been nearer to see otherwise it involved either car hire or taxi
Elizabeth on front desk was exceptional in her help in helping with problem over taxi transport back to airport and made sure we were safe and got to our destination .

Breakfast was minimal; all disposable plates and cutlery, although this seems to be the norm during our Texas travels. The coffee machine in our room was broken.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed and good hot shower. Location was fine for us. Although at the end of the seafront boulevard, it’s only a short drive to local restaurants and cafes.

The corridor carpets were a bit moldy and smelled, though there was no smell in our room. Even the reception area flooring needs some upkeep.
The room was clean, nice and comfortable. The staff was very nice, polite and super helpful. The breakfast was pretty good. Location is little off the main beach but has a wonderful view. Good value for money.

Unfriendly check-in at reception as I had difficulty understanding the slang. As a foreigner, I don't expect this in a hotel like this. Too expensive.

Neither Booking.com nor Best Western told me, until I showed up, that they would not honor points or give us points for the visit. The reason was: we did not book direct with Best Western. Rate if booked direct was over $75 less, the desk clerk said. We have stayed at this location over 12 times over the years and this was the first time BW said we would not get points, etc. We have reservations at another hotel next week in Galveston due to this issue. We attend shows at The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston and BW is very good location and across from the beach.
Very good value breakfast and choices. Room was clean and comfortable but nothing fancy

It seems to be an old property and being close to the waters, there was moisture and smell in the rooms due to high humidity, but not very bad, but tolerable.
Location is great and staff was wonderful. Breakfast was good. Offering extended parking is a boy’s buy we did not know earlier.

Elevator was not working, so with bad knees it was kinda difficult.
Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great, eggs and sausage were hot, coffee was fresh. Staff was very good.

The mattress was bowed and uncomfortable. It made for a restless nights sleep.
The front desk lady gave me excellent service. The room was clean. I think the room could use a new mattress. It bowed in the middle and was uncomfortable.

Physical Atmosphere was not warm and comfortable looking. Almost walked out when we first saw the lobby. Very unappealing and cold looking.

Only one staff member when we arrived. I imagine it can get frustrating to wait when many people need something from the front desk… Also, when I went to purchase Tylenol from the front desk at 3am in the morning coz my friend had a headache, they only took cash. It was a bit inconvenient. But good thing my friend had cash available
Good location. We only spent a night there and the room was very good. Comfortable beds, clean bathroom. Elevator wasn’t working when we were there but it was no big deal getting to the second floor
