Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaParking is tough. Very steep climb to get to the hotel so if you have any trouble walking or getting around you may want to rethink staying here. Spa and restaurant were closed.
The room was wonderful. It was very clean with a nice view and very comfortable bed. Very close to town. Quick drive to anything you need.

United States of AmericaMy wife and I are up in age..We have stayed at the Castle Hotel twice in the past 5 months because it is a very clean facility and the location of the hotel is ideal. We had to carry our own luggage to our room upon check in and upon leaving the facility. Saw no bell hop service. Front desk did not ask us if we needed assistance with our luggage.
Very clean. Spacious rooms. Ideal location to all attractions and restaurants. Continental breakfast is good. It is disappointing that a high quality hotel cannot offer a sit down made to order breakfast.

United States of AmericaWe were celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary. Made mention of that in our reservation and upon arrival, It was never acknowledged. They did not do anything to make our anniversary special. Although it's a lovely place to stay, I would not recommend it for special occasions since ours was totally ignored.
The room was large and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was adequate, but not special. Castle is lovely to explore.

United States of AmericaThe heating system fan blew directly on the bed which was very disturbing ... I had to block the "breeze" with a pillow in order to sleep. Room #305. Wonder if the furniture could be flip-flopped.
The property itself is just fabulous! I love old, historic, storied properties. The room was huge, the bed super comfy and the extra workspace, 2 sitting chairs just made it very livable.

UruguayBreakfast was disappointing, there were just a few options and when we went for coffee at 9.30 am, there was just a little of it and no milk. There was no staff in the room to request more milk or coffee. Additionally, the spa and restaurant were not working during our stay.
The size of the room is a highlight. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and in general, the room was what we expected during our stay at Castle Hotel. The location is great if you are looking for a place to relax and avoid the city noise.

United States of AmericaBreakfast was a weak point. It was provided in a nice room and the young man managing it was equally nice. The little provided was high-quality, but there were few food options. A few additional options would have left a better impression.
A nice, clean place. Rather unique compared to a typical hotel. Would happily stay here again.

United States of Americawe've stayed here before and I don't recall the fan running constantly in the room - it was annoying. We miss the restaurant esp for breakfast - the continental breakfast just doesn't cut it. Maybe if there was added hot oatmeal and hard boiled eggs it would have helped.
We love the Castle rooms and location.

LithuaniaNeeded to check in at night and the front desk employee made us wait for 15 minutes, because he was doing something on the computer with the comment that the check in is at 3 pm. However, the worst is breakfast in this place. No warm food whatsoever, only bagels, cream cheese and very questionable yogurt. It’s highly recommended to change breakfast menu.

United States of AmericaBreakfast was inlcuded and appreciated but limited by the hotel's lack of working kitchen facilities. Perhaps the management could arrange some additional items with facilities in Tarrytown to make the choices fresher and more interesting. Under the circumstances, the hotel did their best to provide a clean dining room and a limited choice of fresh food items.
My interaction with Christian and Neal at the front desk was very positive. The room was very spacious, had easy access from both elevator and parking lot, and useful amenities like a Keurig, bottled water, separate sinks, make-up mirror, and plenty of towels. My thanks to the staff for holding our luggage at check-out so we could spend 4 more hours sightseeing and eating lunch in town. It was a relaxing place to stay in this lovely NY community.
