The room was completely renovated and the room was really comfortable and chic. Although where the hotel is located is 15 minutes walking distance from the city center/downtown but the shuttle driver was available within 5 minutes or calling.

Location is up a hill, shuttle won’t take you anywhere but the ferry. It’s a small island you can walk everywhere but walking back it’s a very steep hill and taxi is $20. I would recommend to just stay closer to the water.

We arrived after dark and the grounds could use a lot more landscape lighting around the paths as the walkways in the garden area was very dark and the steps were hard to see. Also, the restaurant was very very difficult to find in the dark with the signage that proved very confusing. Needless to say, we did not have dinner or any meals at the restaurant while we spend our 3 days at this hotel. The small snack area could use a better assortment of snacks and beverages.

The shuttle service to town was excellent with Jose as our driver was always friendly and on time. The rooms were quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. The flatscreen TV was also very good. The bathroom was very roomy and the shower was huge with excellent water pressure.

Rooms don’t have good soundproof walls, we can hear our neighbor’s TV running all the time.

It was convenient having a shuttle picking up at the dock. And the room is decent size and clean!

The room could have been cleaner. After my little dog started sniffing around the bed, I checked an open area towards the headboard and found old French fried and an empty trail mix bag. People are smoking on the balconies and that just stinks up the room. Lastly, the restaurant was more like the chow hall of a youth hostel and is - as far as I understand - actually a separate entity and does not even belong to the hotel.

The lush landscaping makes you feel like you’re in a tropical setting. The room was nice and the staff attentive and helpful. The free shuttle to and from Avalon was helpful. I’m limited in hotel selection because I take my little dog with me. Happy that they allowed pets for a reasonable fee.

No hot tub as shown on website. The restaurant on site is not part of the hotel, but it closed a 7pm which was very early. The hotel is only .7 miles from downtown Avalon, but it is all uphill

Rooms were nice, pool was decent size. Shuttle service was a benefit. Luggage storage was necessary. No microwave in room to heat leftovers.

Housekeeping could have been a lot better. After the first night, the bed was made, and the trash picked up. the bathroom had the trash picked up but was not cleaned, the toilet had not been cleaned and the shower was still wet from our early morning showers, and it smelled very musty when we came back to room #308 about 4:30PM. Also, the lobby was 1 story down below street level with a ramp leading to it., Not very accessible for handicapped people if they were in a wheelchair or walker, fortunately we did not require either one, but we are in our in our 80's.

Room was handicapped as requested. Shuttle was great. Restaurant we had dinner there one evening the only time we found it open.

The front desk staff was EXTREMELY RUDE. UNHELPFUL & LAZY. When my sister and I checked in (it was evening and both of us are senior ladies, infact my sister just turned 90) the front desk girl was playing on her phone and told us our room was "down the walkway." When we couldn't find our room and returned to ask her to please help us, she huffed, made a face and reluctantly got out of her chair and pointed down a very dimly lit walkway and said again, "it's that way" and then returned to her personal cell phone in the loby. The young man who was at the desk earlier in the day had the same attitude. Also when we were in town and called for the van, the phone would be picked up and immediately put on hold or the person at the front desk would hang up, so we had to call 3-4 times. Horrible way to treat guests, especially at the prices this hotel is charging. I will not recommen this hotel nor will we ever book it again. There are way more hotels to choose from to every book this horrible place.

The room was nice and looked to be updated and the van drivers were nice.
