Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room had a funky smell to it but was clean.
Faith, in the bar, was a joy to chat with. She was quick, personable and made my pretty crummy day a lot more enjoyable.

It is a little outdated and the area surrounding it isn’t bustling.
The property was clean and there was a Starbucks in the Lobby. The outdoor area was nice, with a pool and fire pit.

Our room was across from the ice machine so it was a bit annoying hearing people get ice early in the morning.
This was a clean, well decorated, recently remodeled hotel. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the swimming pool. There was a nice fire pit outside just across from the swimming pool.

Hand washing soap. Need better toiletries. At least provide 2 bars of soap. Dirty carpet. Requested room service. None provided. Cobwebs by elevator. Loud noisy Maintenence worker over radio call right outside your room talking for 45 mins plus in the morning.

Room service was offered every four days. The toilet was clogged but was quickly fixed. The price was too high for the type of room we got. The beds had some bed bugs.
The staff were very friendly. The hotel agreed to keep our luggage after check out.

12 USD parking fee per day is quite costly, but I think this is a business practice around the area. No complimentary breakfast.
A lovely Courtyard by Marriott hotel. Clean room with functional settings and amenities e.g. microwave oven. The onsite laundry facility is very convenient. The location is also convenient.

The pool was a bit loud with kids but the noise died down in the evening. Next time, I'd request a room facing outwards.
They were overbooked when we arrived, but the staff were very gracious and we got the first night free at another Marriott, which we appreciated. Good brew pub in park across the street!

The bathrooms are dated and badly need an upgrade. We had trouble with the flushing tank for two full days before it was fixed. The walls in the rooms too look old.
The Starbucks breakfast is very good and the staff are very polite. Carlos at the front desk, Angelika and Marina (I hope the name is correct) stand out for their excellent guest orientation and readiness to assist. The mattresses & linen are comfortable. The rooms are very quiet.

This is not the first place to charge for parking, but, to me, I’ve always found it peculiar to be considered a guest, but then after we show up, we are told we will be charged a parking fee after paying a higher price, by choice, to stay at a better hotel. I don’t quibble about it with the staff, and just pay the fees, but it’s just always rubbed me the wrong way. This has traditionally been an inclusive accommodation, especially when your business model is one that is supposed to create a comfortable respite for travelers.

Room was spacious but dated with mustard and red colored walls. Carpet was dark and stained. Airconditioning was noisy.
Location. Lots of restaurants and stores within 10 minutes drive. Nice lobby with coffee shop. Efficient staff.
