Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe whole building needs a big scrub and vaccum. Handles in the female bathroom were broken and at times unable to be used. Large set of stairs to enter the property. No air con in the room as advertised, so rooms are stuffy. Street noise is loud, bring ear phones. Beds were quite uncomfortable.
Great central location in North Beach. Close to so many restaurants and attractions. Public transport nearby. Rooms themselves were clean. Great price for the location. Walking distance to a lot of places. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the hotel, so it was good for what we needed.

United Kingdom-We were aware of most of the negatives -Very noisy outside -No A/C or fan, gets very warm and stuffy -Had to ask for a towel -Light was broken
-Very nice location in North Beach. -Inexpensive for San Francisco -Shared showers were nice enough

IrelandNo parking, very small rooms, the hotel would need a renovation.
The hotel has a very good location, close to China town and Little Italy. Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Old but clean.

GermanyThe front desk staff could've been a little bit more friendly and welcoming especially when you arrive at the hotel and you're exhausted from your trip and you want to check in and the only thing the staff can barley say is hello, doesn't give you a good feeling to begin with. One morning we had no hot water in the shower. The bed was uncomfortable as heck, my back still hurts when I think k about it and you can here steps from. The stairs above you and when your neighbors are too loud you hear that as well. I don't expect much for a hotel with a good price but like some things should be standard even tho it's cheap.
The location is pretty good. It's right next to Chinatown and you have a bunch of Bars, Restaurants and gentleman's club there. The hotel price is fairly cheap but I mean you get what you pay for.

PolandIt would be good to have a hanger and a chair in the room. The male bathroom is not very big and I don't know how it can accommodate all the guests when the place is full, but there were no lines when I stayed there.
The hotel has a great location and you get a spacious room with a comfortable bed. Plus good wi-fi.

United States of AmericaThere was no TV remote. Front desk provided one but it DID NOT work and said there were no spares. Went without TV but was disappointed that no fix could be provided or reduction in room charge given. Unacceptable!
I love the location. The bus stops right outside the door. Except for not being able to watch TV, as described herein, I continue to stay here once or twice a month.

LatviaIf this will be your first hotel in US after EU, be prepared for a culture shock. After staying in other cheap US hotels, this one didn't stand out as a bad one. Yes, cleanness of the bathroom will depend on attitude of other guests. Windows are thin and let a lot of noise in (but expect the same even in 4star hotels). This place does need some love, but it was reasonably clean.
Location was great, felt safe on street while walking. Staff was friendly – had no problems with late check-in as my flight got delayed.

United States of AmericaI could only get one channel on the TV. This is not the first time that the TV or the remote does not work or is very limited to just a couple channels. Please go to the rooms and try to watch TV and you'll understand.

United States of AmericaLock on window didn't work, spiderwebs in the corners, lock on door was crooked, so I had to lift the door to get the lock to fully latch, bed uncomfy, no parking for the property, I had to park at a 3rd party lot nearby.
The hotel was near the location I needed it at. And, it had a few things nearby within walking distance, which helped a lot.

SwedenCleaning. Blanket on bed smelled disgusting (beds were otherwise good). Refrigerator was unusable due to awful smell. Small insects slowly crawled up from shower drain (disappeared for some hours if using the shower). No view from window.
Very cheap and well worth the money. Paid less than $80 per night which is way below other nearby hotels with similar standards. We had private bathroom. Location. Central and felt safe. Despite the bad cleaning and somewhat disgusting feel of the room I really liked this hotel. This will be an awesome hotel if they do some minor renovation and starts to clean the place properly.

ItalyThe floor in the bathroom was a bit dirty but nothing that someone cannot survive for a couple of days. For the prices of San Francisco it's a convienient choice.
The location is great: it is 5 minutes by foot from Chinatown and Little Italy. Also there are buses right down the street that connects you with different neighbourhoods. The room is small but okay for two people. You'll have a TV and a microwave available to use! The bed was clean and the great thing is that there was no moquette (super common everywhere in the States) so less dust!!

FranceLate check in only. Room was not ready at noon but we could leave our bag though and do some visits. Very slopped stairs. No elevator. Was supposed to have a spare bed for my son but didn't have it in the room. Very small bathroon, leaking shower that left water on the floor around the toilets.
Good location, good Price for one night and 3people. Nice staff, they agreed to keep my bags. The place is really next to china town and little italy. Many bus stops nearby.

BrazilThe room was kinda dusty, some of the drawers were dirty. We did check in early tho, so they might not have had time to clean our room. The rooms are a little bit on the louder side because of the closeness to the street, you will hear transit and music if someone happens to play it in the street or car and there is little you can do about it, but it is not that bad.
Great place for the price you are paying, there is a Fridge, a Microwave and a Sink in the room, so that's great. We check in early and were welcomed. My friend left his bag there on check out to grab later and when he did they let him take a shower.
