Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaWhen I booked I did not realize it was in the middle of a homeless area. The desk assured us the parking lot was patrolled by police regularly and that nobody has had their car broken into.
Staff were very helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable

United States of AmericaLocation is a bit dodgy, lots of homeless.
Very helpful desk staff, one lady lent me her personal penknife to use as a beer bottle opener. That is above and beyond.

United States of AmericaThe neighborhood is in the heart of the homeless area. This is a city of Spokane issue that needs to be addressed. Walking from the hotel you would pass many challenged people. The hotel property and parking areas were very secure.
The new facility was wonderful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We were there for the Bloomsday Run and events so the distance to the activities was easily walkable. The staff was welcoming and pleasant.

United States of AmericaThe biggest "dislike" items were neighborhood/location related, so not easy fixes. They've done a fair amoount to secure their grounds, but I had been told heading there that it is nicknamed "Spocompton" - a reference to the city of Compton, which has a very rough reputation. I found the nickname fitting, with a significant drug vibe. The view out of my 3rd floor room was the side of a very old cinderblock building with boarded up windows, but at least you didn't have to worry about anyone looking in.... 😉 On the functional but less concerning side of things: The furniture that functioned like a desk was a bit too high for comfort and the chair couldn't be raised high enough to sit at it appropriately. It was usable, but less than stellar. Plugging my computer in required running a cord over the front edge to a power strip. The in-room stuff was not something to deter your stay, but the neighborhood thing is something to be aware of.
The staff was great. The bed was comfortable. The front desk provided an extra card key to put in the slot that turns on the power to the room.

United States of AmericaLocation. Lots of sketchy people outside. They try to help that by putting up fences and locking the main doors so none of them can get inside, that helped.

United States of AmericaThe room we stayed in at was very comfortable. The only xomment I have was that the toilet smelled like urine a little so we had to wipe down the surface with disinfecting wipe since we we traveled with a child. Also, the elevator wasn’t working on the day we checked out which made carrying our luggages down difficult.
The property was located centrally and water, hot water and coffee were available 24/7. Also breakfast was a nice addition.
