When we checked out we had to pay the difference between what we paid booking and their regular rate. If that is the case why use booking?

They were out of dark coffee and didn't get it filled in time to have a cup.

The dark roast coffee was VERY weak- so disappointing. Other guests around me were complaining too. The light roast was weak even for light roast. Otherwise everything was great.

My daughter left her sneakers in our room after checking out. She didn’t miss them until the next day. The staff had kept them & when she called to ask she was able to pick them up. We appreciate that!

The breakfast wasn't great. The eggs were not good at all. The juices were very strange tasting. We left and grabbed breakfast elsewhere.

The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. The beds were especially comfy. I slept very well.

The first night, the air conditioner in the room did not work. The next morning went to the counter and my room was changed. The front desk clerk was super helpful and apologized for the inconvenience.

The breakfast was good, there was a different breakfast every day, not the same. The staff was courteous and willing to cook more when it was almost finished. It was more than the regular continental breakfast where they only have coffee and sweet bread.

Upkeep of the facility has suffered recently. The couch in the room was ripped in several places, the towel rack was falling out of the wall, the fixtures were rusty. The A/C seemed to not be able to keep up with the room size, and the curtains wouldn't close all the way to create a dark environment. The breakfast also seemed to be missing many regular items.

Like so many businesses these days, this hotel was understaffed. The staff who were there were doing a good job but there was a lot of "self service" going on. It wasn't a big deal but the second night my daughter who is going to school at SHSU stayed with us so I folded out the sofa and there were no sheets. I called the front desk and housekeeping and no one ever answered. I walked down to the first floor and thankfully the laundry room was open so I helped myself to a set of sheets for our sofa bed. Again, this was not a big deal but it was telling in the fact that this hotel is understaffed. Also the thermostat in our room was not working right. We froze at night. Extra blankets would have been nice. I should have grabbed one when I got my sheets.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Location was great because there were a lot of restaurants we could easily walk to. The breakfast was surprisingly good for the "free buffet" type of fair. Eggs were fresh and well cooked and the waffles were good. The area was super clean and stocked.

Breakfast was very lacking to say the least. Needs to be improved. Holiday Inn Express beats your breakfast hands down.

I didn’t have my room cleaned because I slept in. for a hotel that size and at that price point in this bitty town, I expect maid service after 13:00 to be accommodated. Stay at the Marriott next door.

Light bulbs were burned out at the entrance and around the pool next to parking. They didn’t have the waffle mix out for breakfast and we had to request it. The waffle iron was dirty from the day before. There was no water to drink at breakfast. I asked and they went and found a bottle of water for me. Insulation wasn’t great…you could hear everything going on in the hotel.

The staff was nice. The facility was nice. Full breakfast is back! The food was good with a decent variety. The room was designed well.
