To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaFor the price we pay for a room I expected a fridge and microwave- those are pretty basic/standard in any hotel I’ve stayed in and hotels for half the price of the one night I stayed. Any food we took to the hotel we ended up throwing out since we couldn’t keep it cold.
The hotel floor manager was very nice and professional and friendly- I forgot his name but based off our conversation he is Nicaraguan and he was excellent.

United States of AmericaWe got a corner end room that was red themed and window view was a wall. It felt like a seedy back dungeon room. Not happy about it but arrived late and didn’t have the energy to ask for a change. Definitely need to offer lower prices for these type of rooms :-(

United States of AmericaThere were several self check-out kiosks, but only one was operational. I felt rushed, as there was a line of people behind me, sighing, as they waited to check out. I didn’t realize until we were at the airport that I had only done the check-out for one of our rooms. Luckily, I was able to check out for the second room online from my phone. I wish I had known about that sooner.
Our rooms were very clean and comfortable, and we especially loved the strong water pressure of the walk-in showers. It felt very luxurious! We also enjoyed the restaurants of Eataly downstairs. The flatbread pizzas were amazing! Excellent food and customer service at the LaPizza for dinner.
