Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Decided not to rent a car since overnight parking is exorbitant. Public transportation in Austin sucks. Busses were like unicorns, there is a light rail but I couldn't tell where it went and why. Had to Uber to anywhere further than 1.5 miles.
The breakfast food was good quality (steel cut oatmeal, whole grain bread, freshly cut fruit.) But exactly the same stuff every day. We were there for 6 days. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was cleaned well daily. The location is excellent within walking distance of many restaurants, music venues, and funky places. The capitol bridge with the roosting bats is only 3 blocks away.

The overall cleanliness of the hotel is perfect. It could be due to lack of staffing but housekeeping would arrive at our room each day as we were showering and getting ready to go out for dinner. Usually between 5-6 pm. The housekeeping cart was on our floor when we left in the morning and we typically were out for the day so not sure why we were prioritized at the end of the day. This left our room without being cleaned for 4 days. We were able to get fresh towels. It seemed very unconventional. We did let the front desk know.
The breakfast was fresh, plentiful and provided a lot of options, The location was great and within walking distance of most attractions. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

I loved the place, and breakfast is much better than many other hotels. But it can be a lilttle better as well. There was no lactose free options. No sugar free options. No microwave.
I like the room space it was great to have that extra living room.

On the day I arrived the room was not very clean. The bathroom was dirty on the floor and sink. It only became fully clean after housekeeping the next day. The phone broke so I had to go downstairs for hotel services. The mattress was too soft.
The food was great. Loved breakfast, the staff was super nice and all dishes I ordered were very good. I did not feel allergic like I often do in hotels.

We were charged additional taxes in spite of paying all charges in advance to Booking.com, when questioned they said these are addtional charges we had to pay
The location was very convenient and reachable to all restaurants and bars. The room was clean and spacious, also had a sofa cum bed for additional guest. Breakfast was limited but enough and tasty

Room doors don’t go all the way to the floor. So hallway conversations/shutting doors were loud.
Excellent staff. The check in personnel was amazing. We were escaping a terrible Airbnb situation and felt we were in good hands!

The air con in the room was excessively noisy. Lobely hotel and all the things we expected except attention to the detail, such as we have 5 people in our family and so needed the fold out bed however we had to ask for a blanket for the bed as not one in the closet and also only 4 towels so had to ask for another. Little things but had a great stay tho.
Location was fantastic, central to all we needed and great staff, very friendly and helpful.

Housekeeping didn’t come except when I called. Would’ve been nice to have the trash emptied daily for the 4 nights and coffee replenished because there was not an all day coffee station in the lobby. No on-site coin laundry. Pool was clean, but very small. Homeless people were borderline aggressive.
Breakfast was phenomenal. Gym was spacious. Location was convenient and there was a small grocery directly across the street. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
