Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Lift was slow (understandable). Shortage of tables and space at breakfast, very very busy no matter how early we went down
Brilliant location, only a few minutes walk from Times Square. Clean room, nice shower, comfortable bed. Room was larger than most NYC hotel rooms

Rooms are small and expected. Others complained about not being able to open suitcase and walk around room. That is very accurate. But it’s nyc and that’s fine. Very nice room and bathroom otherwise.
Wonderful staff. That always makes a difference. Free breakfast is a hit too! We were first placed in a room with a noisy AC and they moved us right away no questions asked.

Bathroom was very small and cramped. The website showed availability for standard king size beds. I reserved a king size bed, but was I put in a room with two beds I didn’t need as a solo traveler and ultimately have less sleeping space in a smaller bed (double/full mattress). No hesitation from staff in downgrading the customer. 5:45am fire alarm throughout the building was unfortunate but understandable as isolated incident.
Clean, spacious lobby. Generous breakfast options.

I wish our bathroom had a shower and tub option. The water level was extremely low on the 12th floor. I hope you all can work on that.
The staff was very helpful and nice. Rosa is the best! She's very friendly and concerned about her guests. I appreciated the free breakfast and being able to leave my luggage with identification tags before check-in.

Having to go home 😅

Maybe the extra bed for the third one in the room could have been a bit more comfortable. But still it was not that bad.
Great location and amazing breakfast! Really good value for a room for three people. Very kind and helpful staff. Rosa was great. All equipment was great, and everything super clean!

The coffee served at breakfast is dreadful. The coffee offered in the room was adequate.
Breakfast was better than expected based on reviews I read. There was variety and even during the busiest times, the line moved quickly.

The closets are very small so there is not enough space to store things. Plastic cutlery and cardboard plates in a breakfast restaurant.
The hotel is very well located for visiting New York, staff is friendly and available. I would like to point out the kindness and professionalism of the guy at the reception whose name is Kevin. Very close to the bus station, connection to New York airports.

Room too small, painting in the walls and doors need improvement.
One of the employees (I believe his name was Ramanha, from Central Asia) that was helping during breakfast was very polite with all the guests. I could see other guests complementing him for being so polite and helpful. I think he should be at the front desk to receive guests. It certainly would. Improve the image of the hotel.

The air conditioning was extremely noisy. Beds were not particularly comfortable.
The location was good and having breakfast included each morning is a bonus. The bar/food area downstairs provided options if you had been walking all day. Staff were lovely.

The shower had weak water pressure.
The view of the room was stunning! The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the city and the major attractions are nearby. Also the staff was very very friendly and helpful.

Lifts always busy. Took forever to get one. Breakfast area was too crowded, at any time. Hard to get a table or move around.

The lifts and lobby area were very crowded due to the popularity of the hotel
