Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Wifi only worked outside on the porch. We couldn't get the 2nd TV to work, but the one in the living-room was fine. The furnishings are a bit old.
The water pressure in the shower was very good. The rooms were relatively large. Nearby Birdie's Restaurant was great.

Floor was sandy when we arrived. Could have used more entrance rugs for shoes. Coffee pot leaks and a few addition pots/pans would have been nice.
House was open and available when we arrived. Location was great. Nice and quiet. Loved the seclusion and wooded surroundings. Just like home.

There was a bright porch light on until 11:30 pm that you could not turn out. It was so bright in our room because there was only a blind and no room darkening curtains. The walls were super thin and the people next door were loud so it made it hard to fall asleep.
Rooms were clean and beds nicely made with comfortable linens.

Could have done with out the Canadian group that rented about 3-4 rooms next to ours and stayed outside drinking, smoking and partying till 1am every night. But that's the fault of the clueless guests, not the hotel.

Not having AC only the separate bedroom,main room was very HOT. fan didn't cool things down.Location is great with easy on/off highways/Turnpike. Our housekeeper was kind and helpful.

The beds . The mattress was comfortable but the platform The mattress was on was super noisy every time you rolled over was creaking and squeaking. Otherwise great. Oh couldn't get the TV to work either it turned on but couldn't do anything else

The shower pressure could be a lot better. A bigger tv for a double room.
The location and the trolley is at your door step to the beach, no worrying about parking and it runs til midnight.

Water pressure in shower-those with thicker hair wanted more. Mattress was good but a little soft for me (I have bad back issue), was good for my wife and family. There was one chair inside, so not a lot of places to sit, so most folks sat outside on front porch where there were more chairs.
Excellent location: close but not too close to beach/center so nice and quiet. Room was clean and nice; bathroom was a little small and water pressure was on the low side, but decent. Kitchenette was very helpful with basic amenities to heat/reheat food, fridge/freezer etc.

I did not like that the pavement has holes in spaces you can’t see unless you’re looking for them. I did not see a hole in the pavement fell off the porch and fractured my ankle in front of room 22.
I liked the actual rooms and amenities.

With the location in ME and the amount of sand brought in, a broom and dust pan would have been very handy.
Basic motel accommodations. Clean enough, comfortable beds. Glad there wasn’t carpet on the floor.

It had everything we needed a kitchen and things you would need to cook and eat. You just need the groceries. So it def saved us from eating out 3x a day. We had access to a grill. Pool. Swings and a slide for the kids. The other side had basketball hoops. I enjoyed it. Perfect especially for longer stays. We enjoyed it. Kids were happy. Would stay again.

Like any seaside location. Rooms are a bit dated, nothing to sit on except a couple of wooden chairs or a patio chair. For the amount of time you spend in the room not to bad.
Rooms are very clean, staff was friendly and accommodating.

We had to skim out the pool ourselves. The pool guy came at night but by the time you went in it was dirty again.
The convenience of having a pool and grills. Also, the trolley coming by every half hour to take you down to the beach.

Could use a window screen, a reading lamp by the bed and a fan in the washroom. The a/c struggled to keep up with the heat & humidity.
Good value, clean, nice owners, access to pool and BBQ facilities, 1 block from a great ice cream spot.

It is managed by one person so check in and out is very limited and you need to make sure he is there or grab him when he is available.

The beds were quite squeaky and there were no curtains on the windows, only blinds, making it very bright in the mornings.
It was comfortable and affordable with very friendly and helpful staff. Loved the pool!
