The old smell lingered, and I could hear other guests right next to me.

The room was cute and clean, the building is old so the interior was dated. I liked to old feel though! Beds were big and soft.

The location was excellent, right near the Alamo with easy access to the Riverwalk. The history associated with the hotel was fantastic. The colonial lobby and dining room were so beautiful!

Would recommend music piped out to pool area. The air conditioning system was quite loud out there. Some music might help mask the other sound . Didn't like all the construction noise outside,but that is not something the hotel has control over. It will be really nice once completed.

The rooms are a bit run down and need renovation, the breakfast buffet is very, very basic and the quality of food does not match the level of the hotel

I guess I wasn't dressed appropriately while checking in, and was given dirty looks by folks checking in also. Was told to take the elevator at the opposite end of the hotel, lugging all of our luggage, despite figuring out we were directly above the desk, and could have taken the closer elevator. I also found out what 275sqfeet actually looks like. Our view was a concrete building, but could see tower of America's right above it.

The hotel is gorgeous, and full of history. It is in the middle of everything, and didn't have to walk far for anything needed. We locked ourselves out of the room at one point trying to buy some water out of the vending machine, and was asked 20 questions to get back into it lol They sent up free champagne for out anniversary 💙💙

Because of the age of the building you can use heating only in the winter. If you have bad luck with weather it’s cold.

The bathroom in the room is extremely small. We couldn't both be in there at the same time. If you set on the commode, the sink countertop stabbed you in the back. The temperature of the water would go from extremely cold to extremely, extremely Hot while taking a shower.

The location was convenient. The valet personnel were very prompt. The historical information was a great experience. The room was nice and clean.

No grab bars in the bathtub. Could be an issue for those with limited mobility.

Due to the location it could get very noisy around the hotel at night. My room had some clearly older features, for example, the shower fittings which made it hard to control the water temperature.

Sorry but why does it smell like old spice cologne threw out the whole lobby it’s way too strong of a old style cologne smell it’s like a million grandpa’s had invaded the property

Swimming pool closed for entire stay. Offered pool in sister hotel but not nearly as nice or convenient. Pillows very uncomfortable and no alternative available.

I kept tripping on the difference in floor height for the bathroom to room. I don't like that you have to use valet parking.
