No elevator, so not suitable for lesser Able’s persons. Breakfast was shambles. Three slices of cake are no substitute for a croissant and a glass of orange juice. Complimentary or not , if you serve it, take pride in it.

Location is sublime. Pool area is lovely. Rooms are good.

I can't think of one thing.

The hotel is beautiful. The pool and hot tub is in a gorgeous setting. They will bring you a small breakfast on a tray to your room, which is complementary. Right in the middle of downtown Calistoga, within walking distance to everything.

I was very disappointed with the first room they gave us on the second floor. It overlooked a rooftop with air conditioning units that provided no 'pleasing view' at all. They did move us. The two rooms I saw were not as luxurious as any of the ones that appeared in the photos-so those must be the suites? There are lots of stairs to the second floor, which could be an issue for people.

We were there in the off-season (March), so there were fewer staff and hotel guests. We practically had the pool and hot tub to ourselves, which was unexpected and relaxing. I am sure the vibe is great in the summer, but the outdoor bar was closed, and there were few amenities available at this time of year. Johnny's bar is part of the building, and it was a great place to hang out late. This historic hotel is right on the main street, so very walkable to all the restaurants and shopping.

Parking was tricky and our room view north was next to a bar

National Register hotel with a feel from a different era. Big room with king size bed. Really quiet which was most relaxing.

We stay here every time we want to get away from the busy life from the Bay Area. An excellent hotel, clean, services and the hot spring spas was the best. Love the cottage and we will always come more than 4 times a year.

It would be great to have a hydration station on the second floor as well as ground floor.

Location was excellent in the town and ideal for restaurants and as a base for wine tasting. Staff were helpful and pleasant, bed was really comfortable and we would definitely stay again. A light breakfast in the room was a nice touch.

Price paid was too high vs room quality

The staff was stellar and went above and beyond to make us happy from beginning to end. The location in town was great as we enjoyed restaurants and shopping on both sides of the hotel. We wlaos had the bonus of being able to listen to live music next door from the hotel hot tub/pool area. The room was cozy but a bit small + more rustic than anticipated for the price paid.

Some of the facilities could have used some updates or cleaning, even when taking the age of the building into consideration. Occasional miscommunication amongst staff which led to things not being delivered on time

The only thing I missed was a bath tub our stay was relaxing, peaceful and romantic. We were centrally located and walked everywhere.

Kevin and Matt were wonderful. They were both professional, knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The grounds are lovely and inviting. We stayed in cottage #101 and our own private yard.

The breakfast offering was a little bit weird. It featured 3 slices of very sweet cake, an orange, and a small drop of coffee lurking in a large pot. The bathtub in my suite could have done with a renovation. It was leaky and chipped. But in a way it added to the old world charm.

The location is perfect in the centre of town. The balcony suites are spacious and nicely decorated. Staff are nice.

    breakfast, realy not ok

Mountain view is a beautiful vintage hotel. on friday, saturday and sunday even an outdoor cinema with classic movies. very sweet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is available and served on the agreed time in the room. Alas, quite a disappointment and beneath the standar of the heritage of this hotel. Rooms are great and spacious. I love to hike and at a 10 minute drive is a small state park with enough hikes for two days.
