Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNo elevator, so not suitable for lesser Able’s persons. Breakfast was shambles. Three slices of cake are no substitute for a croissant and a glass of orange juice. Complimentary or not , if you serve it, take pride in it.
Location is sublime. Pool area is lovely. Rooms are good.

United States of AmericaI can't think of one thing.
The hotel is beautiful. The pool and hot tub is in a gorgeous setting. They will bring you a small breakfast on a tray to your room, which is complementary. Right in the middle of downtown Calistoga, within walking distance to everything.

United States of AmericaI was very disappointed with the first room they gave us on the second floor. It overlooked a rooftop with air conditioning units that provided no 'pleasing view' at all. They did move us. The two rooms I saw were not as luxurious as any of the ones that appeared in the photos-so those must be the suites? There are lots of stairs to the second floor, which could be an issue for people.
We were there in the off-season (March), so there were fewer staff and hotel guests. We practically had the pool and hot tub to ourselves, which was unexpected and relaxing. I am sure the vibe is great in the summer, but the outdoor bar was closed, and there were few amenities available at this time of year. Johnny's bar is part of the building, and it was a great place to hang out late. This historic hotel is right on the main street, so very walkable to all the restaurants and shopping.

United KingdomIt would be great to have a hydration station on the second floor as well as ground floor.
Location was excellent in the town and ideal for restaurants and as a base for wine tasting. Staff were helpful and pleasant, bed was really comfortable and we would definitely stay again. A light breakfast in the room was a nice touch.

Conviently located in the quaint town of Calistoga, this art-deco themed hotel has lovely outdoor spaces, including pool and hot tub. My room was small but well-appointed. Staff was very helpful. I wish I could have stayed longer.

United States of AmericaPrice paid was too high vs room quality
The staff was stellar and went above and beyond to make us happy from beginning to end. The location in town was great as we enjoyed restaurants and shopping on both sides of the hotel. We wlaos had the bonus of being able to listen to live music next door from the hotel hot tub/pool area. The room was cozy but a bit small + more rustic than anticipated for the price paid.

Hong KongThe breakfast offering was a little bit weird. It featured 3 slices of very sweet cake, an orange, and a small drop of coffee lurking in a large pot. The bathtub in my suite could have done with a renovation. It was leaky and chipped. But in a way it added to the old world charm.
The location is perfect in the centre of town. The balcony suites are spacious and nicely decorated. Staff are nice.

Netherlandsbreakfast, realy not ok
Mountain view is a beautiful vintage hotel. on friday, saturday and sunday even an outdoor cinema with classic movies. very sweet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is available and served on the agreed time in the room. Alas, quite a disappointment and beneath the standar of the heritage of this hotel. Rooms are great and spacious. I love to hike and at a 10 minute drive is a small state park with enough hikes for two days.
