Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe pictures are not a fair representation on the hotel ! The balaconies are not so green and actually overlook a massive car park!! The decor is very tired looking! Location made up for this for us.
WE did not have breakfast . The hotel decor was tired . The bed and linen were very clean and fresh. The location is absolutely fantastic as you can walk out the door and explore San Antonia on the river both north and south and easy access to the Plaza and the Alamo. This is its real benefit.

United States of AmericaWe had trouble with the TV, ceiling fan didn’t work.
The historic preservation and presentation was very nice. The proximity to the Riverwalk, restaurants, and attraction made for easy walking. There is a very nice commons area with tables and chairs on each floor.

United States of AmericaThe TV situation is awful!! Impossible to get any channels to work. The coffee downstairs was a bit sad. Something was missing each morning, either the coffee, the cream or the paper cups! The lady at the reception was nice, the man, on the other hand, was a grouch, and it was close to impossible to get a full sentence out of him. Although we love the concept of historical hotels, versus new ones, we would not return to this place, as they cut too many corners!
The location was good.

United States of AmericaI kept trying to adjust the thermostat in the hotel room but to no avail. The room temperature was maybe 64°. I kept trying to get it up to 72. This is in the spring when it’s cold outside. I didn’t talk to the staff about it at the time because I unloaded my suitcases and left the room. I didn’t get back until about 10 PM at that time I went to sleep.
Unfortunately, they was road construction within a block of the hotel. I had to pay for parking, which was unexpected. The hotel room was ice cold. I couldn’t get the room temperature up to 70°.

Location excellent for Alamo and River walk. Easy to find after a long journey and has plenty of parking. Quirky little hotel after a hiccup with hot water was very comfortable. Nice place for breakfast around the corner.

United States of AmericaThe floor of the room was dirty when I arrived, they did not really clean on the first day as they promised. But the second day they spent an hour cleaning the carped. So finally the last day I could enjoy a clean room
The hotel was located near the very expensive conference hotel

United States of AmericaThey had updated their system and not trained the front desk. We didn’t have keys to our room then entire first day. When checking out, the parking pass box is out of the car, on the passenger side. This was super inconvenient as a solo driver with no desire to leave my car running in a busy lane and across the lane and sidewalk to return it. There were no windows in the room so it was very dark, but there was a balcony looking over the back parking lot.
The location and price were fair. The decor was nice.

United States of AmericaThere is not much not to like, but there is no breakfast and it is historic (scruffy on the edges).
Very close to La Villita and a block off Riverwalk. Quaint and quirky lobby. Smart TVs. Good Thai next door open late and a nice little Mexican restaurant (La Castilla) for breakfast or lunch across the parking lot.
