To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaI think all hotels should have a grab bar in the shower, especially when it is in a tub. I am in my 80s and was nervous getting in and out. Also, the lighting was rather poor in the bedroom. The hotel was a longer walk from the Metro than the hotel had indicated. (I walked it 7 times altogether, twice with suitcase.)
Room was comfortable, easy to get to, Bed was fine. I was surprised by fridge and microwave. Liked the clock, easier to read than my clock at home.

I liked the location, nice walk to Lincoln memorial. Good private car parking. Also not far from public transport.

Location was excellent....however, our ROOM was #357...and, unfortunately, hallway ceiling---6+ rooms closer to front elevator than our room---suffered "basketball-sized" water leak collapse....apparently night before our Arrival. Staff put up 16 inch plastic triangle floor sign over water soaked carpet & approx 50 pieces of ceiling plaster....pathetically NO Red Lion Housekeeping...or Mgr....came to CLEAN up & removed plaster pieces on hallway leading to OUR room...the 3 FULL DAYS of our stay....it looked disgusting....appeared NO ONE CARED to sweep up this MESS!! I'd like a courtesy credit....of ANY $$ Amt R Lion thinks FAIR...just for having to AVOID the hallway "plastic water can" catching drips...and broken ceiling plaster hallway mess every day of my wife(74 yrs old & just had HIP replacement operation!) & my THREE DAY stay ! Do want to RETURN...& do want to reco to friends visiting Georgetown Univ & DC overall!!

ItalyI would like to have the possibility to have free tea or coffee in the room.
The room is clean, big and the bed is so comfortable! The position of this hotel is perfect, 5 minutes from the Rosslyn metro station, 30 minutes by walk to reach Georgetown and 15 minutes to reach Arlington cemetery. You can stay here to explore Washington DC without spend so much money as in the city...

The coffee they served in the morning was good. The location was was great as it was a five to ten minute walk to the nearest metro station. Then a 15 minute ride to downtown Washington. The hotel was clean and the staff were great.
