Housekeeping is on request, not daily. My in room phone didn't work. The room lacked a desk chair, but they provided one on request. Some ceiling panels in the exterior hallway were left uncovered for a few days during my stay. The bedside clock wasn't set to correct time. You can hear airplanes from 10th floor room, but at least not during the night. Like most hotels, you can hear other room doors closing and people out in the hallway.

Excellent location, easy walking distance to Metro and restaurants (many to the west). Target, Safeway grocery, and Starbucks are very close by. Easy to get to Smithsonian from the metro station. There's a McDonald's next to the station. Good Shower, comfortable beds, quiet AC. Two-queen room felt spacious. Towels and linens were good. Shower gel and shampoo and conditioner were plentiful. Safeway bakery is good for breakfast pastries, bagels, rolls. Their deli might also offer hot breakfast sandwiches. The in-store Starbucks wasn't always open, but the separate Starbucks location is very close.

I didn’t realize there was no service. Anything needed you had to go get yourself after repeated requests to front desk. On the 3rd day asking for something one lady asked me to come to the desk. Some staff had bad service attitudes - not very friendly.

Problems in communicatin between reception (did well) and housekeeping (didnť do well). The person from housekeeping did not understand English and the receptionist had to communicat with him via translator in his mobile.

The breakfast was somewhat disappointing. We thought it was included, but you need to check if you added it to your reservation. Sonesta offered prepackaged oatmeal, cereal, and yogurt as well as reheated small pancakes or egg sandwiches. We walked to the Safeway nearby and picked up similar breakfast items for less money for the rest of our stay. There was no free coffee or water in the lobby. You could get water from the gym water dispenser. Rosslyn is hilly, so be prepared to hike up a few blocks from the Metro Station to get to the Sonesta Select.

The location near the Rosslyn Metro station was perfect for getting around the Washington DC attractions. The rooms were remodeled and comfortable. We were able to get a room with two queen beds as requested for our family. We filled our water bottles from the gym water dispenser. It also dispenses hot water if you need it for tea or prepackaged oatmeal from the nearby Safeway! We had a refrigerator in the room so we stocked up on items from the grocery store. There is a microwave in Sonesta’s store with sundries in the lobby if you want to heat up some food. The lobby was like a large living room so if you had a bigger group you could relax together on the couches by the fireplace. Games were available too. The large gym was well appointed with elliptical and treadmill machines. There were also free weights and a weight machines. A stretching area offered mats and weighted balls. I worked out and was able to perform my entire routine.

The breakfast attendant was very slow, didn’t know the difference between a room card and a credit card. He made it appear that my credit card was not good, when in fact he was attempting to use my room key as a credit card! When the attendant brought this up to the manager, he told me the second breakfast would be complimentary. My reservations included TWO COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFASTS! What an embarrassment!

There was some noise in the hallways during this stay--people running up and down the halls, loud voices, slamming doors--both late at night and in the mornings. It seemed to be perhaps a larger group traveling together during this particular stay, as I have not experienced this problem before.

Location is terrific - accessible to everything in DC and also has a lot of restaurants and services close by. I continue to come back to this hotel, 2-4 times per year for the past three years. Comfortable beds, nice seating area in the lobby. Convenient parking garage underneath the property.
