Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Hard to be critical when the cost of a property was this cheap . If I had paid 250 dollars for the night then I could be critical but with a good location and basic room which was fine I was happy . The only downside was the air-conditioning wasn't the best
Easy free parking and a simple walk ( 10- 15 mins ) to the heart of shops , bars and restaurants .we were only stopping overnight so perfect for us as I didn't want to drive out anywhere after travelling so was very happy with the location . Check in and out was easy with a friendly staff member so overall very happy with the stay

The room could do with some updating, but I think this is in the process of happening. (Improvements to the hotel site were taking place when we were there).
Really friendly staff. Even though we were late checking in, he was there to meet us, and gave us some good tips on what to do/where to go in the town. The room was comfortable. Good location for restaurants/ town etc. Really good value for money.

Management was super nice. Rooms are clean and cared for. Same price point as neighboring ‘budget’ hotels, but way better quality, customer care, cleanliness. Recommended!!!

The railing going upstairs need to be sanded and painted. Very rough and could get splinters.

My only improvement would be to have softer towels.
Great location and very quiet. Also great to have a mini fridge with a freezer in the room.

It was to close to a main road into the center of town and therefore had traffic noise. I did not know the office was under construction prior to arrival. Manager was very nice and the support staff was very friendly.
Location to the downtown amenities was an easy walk. Access to the freeway was very close. The room was small but clean. It was close to the road so was a bit noisy until late at night.

It was confusing to find the place as construction of the check-in area was still under progress. The motel is a motor motel so there are no frills or anything.
We were on our way from San Francisco to Los Angeles and so we picked to stay at San Luis Obispo since it was midway through the journey. Sunbeam was the best-rated, value hotel that I could find. We liked that we were given a ground-floor room and we could park our car directly in front of it which made baggage handling way easier. The owner was very helpful in giving us recommendations, especially for dinner. We got to eat at the Hawaiian barbeque joint that he recommended.

The room was bit on the smaller side, but manageable for short stays.

This place is a great value. For way less than other places, you get a clean comfortable room that is conveniently located both for downtown SLO and for getting on to 101. The guy who owns it is very obliging and helpful. What more can you ask for.

A few hairs in bathtub but that’s about all
