Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaHad to get a new coffee pot and I think we got a new TV cause it didn’t work the second night. I got kind of mad about the whole mandatory valet parking thing and $45 a day plus tax, plus tip. We probably wouldn’t have stayed there if we knew about it ahead of time. Only took it out on the 3rd day.
Nice rooms and close to the Alamo and the river walk and shopping/restaurants.

United States of AmericaI din't like that the room was right over the lobby and you could hear everything going on down there.
The location is excellent. We had a car but didn't need it. We walked to the river walk on a daily basis. Our room was comfortable and the pub great.

United States of AmericaThe room was very dark. Bathroom was small and needs updating. The Elevator floors has cracks in tile. The desk staff need to be better trained when the parade on Friday was going on, to explain to us how our taxi driver was to be able to pick us up so we could leave in time for our 2:00PM flight. We had to leave at 9:00AM to ensure we were able to get out because of traffic.
What Breakfast? The Crocket Tavern was quaint and food was very good.

United States of AmericaThe location was great, easy to get to the Riverwalk, Alamo, Hop on Hop off bus, restaurants and shops. The hotel has a lot of character with the frontier decor. The beds were comfortable and the rooms very clean. It was the perfect place to stay for our weekend visit.

United States of AmericaI wish they had reminded me that there was a swimming pool!!! Although they did give us a map when we asked, the staff was not especially forthcoming about how to get places or what might be available nearby.
Good bed with reading lights on both sides of the bed. View of the Alamo. Good AC. They let us check in very early!! The Crockett Tavern, apparently not related but on site, had terrific food! We ate there three meals. The breakfast cafe was limited in offerings but the coffee was good.

United KingdomThe quality of the food served in the bar is average. The bar service is inconsistent and lacking in attention. Food options are limited / non existent for people with special dietary needs.
Its location next to The Alamo, and the centre of San Antonio. Its ambiance and its historical links. The drinks from the bar were very good.

United States of AmericaOur bathroom had not been cleaned appropriately with previous guest’s whiskers all over the sink and toilet paper in the toilet still. Few outlets but that is expected in an older hotel.

United States of AmericaWhen Booking the hotel, the cost for parking was not clearly listed. I was surprised to find that in order to park, I had to use a valet, or park in a different lot. Not familiar with the area, I felt using the valet was probably the best choice to guarantee my car would be there in the morning. Obviously, when you use a valet, they deserve a tip. This resulted in the cost of my one night stay being $50 more than I thought it would.
Location is convenient. Available parking, but for a fee that wasn't clearly disclosed to me through Booking.
