Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

It was just a great place to stay.
Excellent location especially for first time visitors to Boston. Bonus to have a great coffee cafe within the building and an excellent cafe around the corner. Also very good shopping choices very close by.

The cost was fairly steep.
Room - we were given a free upgrade which made the room very spacious. The hotel was also located right next to the entrance to the subway.

This was really a good stay, personally I can only mention maybe the lack of lightning in the shower area, which was darker than I expected.
This hotel was a perfect way to end a vacation. Clean, incredible scent at the lobby, friendly staff and the room was cozy and neat. The bed and the pillows were awesome and with great quality.

Parking was very expensive. There was 1 cup of coffee per person in the room, then we had to stand in line and purchase expensive coffee at the adjacent restaurant.
Loved the daily complimentary drink at the bar. Very elegant and unique decor. Great location and easy walk to restaurants, historic attractions and public transportation. The room was excellent. The work out room was good.

I was not happy with a $200 deposit. That caught me by surprise. With a $400/night rate, a free breakfast would have been appreciated.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Liked to complementary beverage.

The mattress wasn't great, and should be replaced. Just a bit squishy on one side.
The room was lovely, comfortable, and quiet. I was upgraded when I arrived, at no additional charge, which was nice. Location was good, close to lots of activities and restaurants. Staff was kind and friendly.
